Anyway.... ENJOY!
Megan POV
"Honey how'd you sleep last night?" My mother's question catches me off guard as I take a seat in the kitchen. My dad is reading the newspaper as usual and doesn't look at anyone else, only to take a sip of his coffee.
" Richard! ask your daughter something honestly do you not pay attention.!?" My mom serves me oatmeal as she scolds dad in a bitter tone. I flinch as I take a spoonful of the oatmeal.
My dad yet again gives her the silent treatment.
I sigh and quickly scoop more food into my mouth.
"Hey sis! Hey!1" My sister's annoying voice makes me stop scarfing down my food.
Soon enough mom's voice gets louder as well as dad's and I mentally groan. This is the fifth time since last week. Even after school started they still go off at each other.
I pat Sarah on the back and motion her towards my food. She nods and eats quietly while I get ready for another boring day of school.
"Sis why do mom and dad fight so much these days?" Sarah is in fifth grade and takes the bus. After she finished the rest of my scraps I take her to the bus stop. No cars in sight yet and the fresh scent of pine is in the air. I look at her curious eyes and sigh.
It's hard telling her things especially when mom and dad are having problems. She's only eleven for Christ's sake why do I have to be the only civilized adult around here.
" Look mom and dad..... there just in a rut I don't know why but it's not your fault. Now I have to go this way so be careful and I'll meet you at home for dinner alright." She gives me a thumbs up, satisfied with my answer. I just can't tell her yet she's still in that part of her life where her parents are needed, as for me I really don['t tell then abut my day or what's happening. The only times I actually talk to my parents is when I need money to buy a book or when I'm going out with Jade to hang out.
I begin walking in the opposite direction. I hold my bag and move the strap towards my shoulder, my wrists still hurt from the marks I got yesterday and I'm glad that mom was pissed at dad. the sun is out and a few trees rustle with the wind as I begin crossing some streets. I notice a few students going the same way as I am and try to scurry along. I look through my bag and check my phone. I notice I have a few notifications and I check them out.
I scroll down to my Facebook page. As usual, Jade is my only follower. I click on the Notifications icon and shrug. What I see is an old picture of Jade and I last year hanging out at the waterpark.
It says: Getting crazy with my bestie :)
I look at the comments and my fists clench in frustration.
New comments arose and they weren't nice I guess you could say. Some put stuff about how bony looking I am and it gets worse and worse. One caught my eye and I immediately shut my phone off.
