"I'M SORRY, BUT WHO are you? Are you bothering my lover?" This unfamiliar man asks while my face was safely hidden against his chest.
"What did you just say?" I could hear Dr. Giovanni ask back, his voice sounding a little more irritated than before.
But the man holding onto me doesn't say anything about it any further as he says instead, "You and everyone else can leave. The party's over!" He announces, and the guards immediately started pushing the guests out of the hall. I still couldn't see Dr. Giovanni either, but I could tell that he was being assisted outside like the rest.
While everyone was leaving the hall, the man squeezes my shoulder and looks at me with a worried expression on his face. But before he could say something to me, a woman suddenly screams, startling both of us. We looked around the hall, and out of nowhere, the guests started dropping to the floor one by one.
"W-What's going on?" The man confusingly asks, panic present in his voice.
"Master Mateo, the ambulance arrived, but the guests are suddenly fainting. What do we do?" One of the guards says to the man whose name is Mateo.
"We need more ambulances. Call for backup," he replied, trying his best not to panic.
I couldn't understand what was going on either, but when I turned and saw Dr. Giovanni looking back at us with a grin on his face, my eyes widened from shock and I quickly pulled out a handkerchief to cover master Mateo's nose. "Cover your mouth and don't breath the air as much as you can," I tell him, making him look back at me with furrowed brows.
"Bishop, what are you talking about?" He confusingly asks as he tries to push my hand away, but then I notice that his eyes started to water, so I quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him outside the mansion where the other guests were running to as well.
As soon as we got out, the guests who successfully made it started coughing blood, while some were vomiting. I didn't understand why I didn't get affected by it, but thankfully the man who saved me from doctor Giovanni looked fine.
"What happened there? Why did you suddenly cover my nose?" Master Mateo asks while looking at me.
Looks like I have to think of something so he won't find me suspicious.
"Looking at the state of the guests, it seemed like there are toxic gas in the hall. Their eyes were watery and their skin didn't look good. It's something my father talked about since he was a soldier," I explained, and thankfully the young master looked like he believed me.
"Then I have to check if there are still people inside," he says as he was about to run away, but then, my hand moves on his own. It grabbed master Mateo's hand and stopped him. Why am I even holding onto him so tightly? Is it because of Bishop?
"Bishop, you have to let go. People might still be inside," he tells me.
"N-No, you can't. It's better to call the police."
"But I am the police," he then replies, and without any warning, he grabs both of my cheeks and leans close to kiss me, my heart racing in an instant. As soon as our lips parted, Teo pushes my hand away and runs back to the mansion.
"Teo!" I called out in complete desperation. I was about to follow him back, but someone suddenly covers my mouth and pulls me away from the busy crowd. I turned my head and saw that it was actually Lino.
I tried to push him away, but Lino—who's stronger than anyone in the manor—doesn't even budge. He drags me away until we finally arrive back at the car. He shoves me inside and then slams the door before rushing to the driver's seat. As he speedily drives off the scene, I looked at the man sitting beside me with a blank expression.
