THE TOWNSPEOPLE STARTED RUNNING while others were seen dropping to the floor, leaving them unconscious. The police officers could no longer evacuate them properly as some cowardly escaped as well. The gas masks that were supposed to be ready for such instances were also nowhere to be found. It was total chaos.
As the commotion was being unfolded, Giovanni looked at his adopted father and grabbed him by the cheeks before forcing him to look at what was happening in front of them. People were screaming, and children were helplessly crying. They were all in great agony, but underneath the pain, they were angry, and that anger was transmitted to none other than the Romanos.
"This is all because of you, my dear father. I hope you enjoy it while it last," Giovanni says with a satisfied grin before pushing William away from him, leaving him to die from the poisonous gas surrounding them.
"You are like your father. I should never have thought you were different," William angrily tells him.
Giovanni chuckles but doesn't say anything about it anymore. He then looks at the crowd again, and then he looks back at his four horsemen and tells them, "We're heading back."
Laurence nods his head and follows Giovanni toward their escape route. Lino knocks out Ludwig Vanderbilt and heads out as well, while Adeline, who was still pointing the gun at the mayor of the town, suddenly faces the old man with tears in her eyes.
"You have forsaken your children and treated them like animals. I always wondered how you lived this long after all that, but I guess the reason behind it is so that you can witness all this," Adeline says before removing the mask that covered her face so that Camillio could see her.
Camillio was confused at first, but then his eyes widened when he finally realized who she was.
"A-Adeline..." he says. "Y-you're...al...alive?"
"Do not utter my name as if you have given it a meaning!" Adeline shouted, pushing the gun further into Camillio's temple. Tears now poured out of Adeline's eyes as he stared at the man who had molested her for all those years. Her hands trembled, and she couldn't even make the tears stop. But as Adeline continues to stare at the evil man in front of him, she suddenly pulls the gun away from him.
"What you did to my mother...and what you did to me...you do not deserve a quick death," Adeline says, pushing Camillio off the wheelchair as the poisonous smoke slowly creeps towards the stage.
"You deserve a slow death! Do you understand me, Camillio Winchester?! I hope you just die and rot in hell! And when you do, I will follow you there and torment you for the rest of eternity!" Adeline shouted, releasing all her anger before finally following Giovanni and the others.
Camillio stares at his granddaughter, trying to reach out to her as his chest starts to tighten. When Adeline is finally out of his sight, he turns his head and looks at William this time.
William was lying on the floor, weeping like a little boy. "Claudio!" He shouted despite Giovanni no longer being there. "How dare you do this to me?! I have fed you, I have given you a home, status, and power, but how dare you—" Before William could even finish his agonizing speech, another man suddenly squats beside him and gives him a taunting grin, making William stop in an instant.
"So you're the man who r-ped and killed his mother," the stranger named Krimson says, making William widen his eyes in shock. "I can leave you here to die, but I could also just shoot you."
"W-What? No...no, please..."
Krimson licks his lips and pulls out a gun from his pocket before pointing it at William's forehead. William couldn't even move because of complete terror, but before Krimson could pull the trigger, someone suddenly jumped on stage and tackled him.
