KRIMSON WAS AT THE laboratory with a couple of nurses. He was mixing up a bunch of chemicals that he requested a week ago, and despite his attitude a while back, Krimson was a lot more serious now. It seems like when it comes to things like this, he really knows what he's doing.
"You're all watching very carefully. You think I'm making a fake one?" Krimson teases in a language that the nurses understand, surprising them.
"I heard from the doctor that you're refugees of the war. It seems like we're similar in that aspect but not entirely the same. The war we fled away from was very different from yours," Krimson says, turning to look at the nurses again, almost making them flinch.
When the alter sees their reaction, he laughs and adjusts his safety goggles before looking back at the greenish liquid he was concocting. "But nonetheless, after all this is over, we're all back to being just refugees. It's funny, isn't it? One day you're plaguing a town and killing everyone, and the next, you're living your life as if you didn't just commit genocide. Very funny indeed."
The nurses look at each other, obviously uncomfortable with the words Krimson uttered. But before any of them could even say anything against it, the door to the lab suddenly opens, revealing the master of the manor, Dr. Giovanni.
Giovanni, who's wearing the right safety gear like everyone else, approaches Krimson to see what he's doing. He's letting Krimson make the plague all by himself, but the reason isn't that he trusts him. Krimson might end up screwing him over and make a completely different poison. That's why he's asking the nurses to watch over him and take note of everything he does so Giovanni can check it later.
"How many have you already made?" Giovanni asks, grabbing a flask to get a better look at the liquid.
"That's sample number 8. I only assisted Dr. Steward, so I don't entirely know the exact measurements of everything. But I'm getting closer to it," Krimson explains, making Giovanni sigh.
"You seem to be in a terrible mood, Dr. Giovanni. Shall I give you my warm and sweet comfort like last time?"Krimson sarcastically asks, making Giovanni cross his arms in irritation. If it's about comfort, he already had his full.
"I'm not in a terrible mood. It's just that we only have a week left before the town's anniversary, and it seems like you're still not done with the plague," Giovanni tells him, making Krimson chuckle.
"You're an idiot if you think I can make this in a day. Finding the ingredients already took you a week, so don't blame me, or I might just switch with Tomorrow and never come out," Krimson threatens, and Giovanni doesn't say anything about it anymore.
"Where are the others?" Krimson then asks.
"The others? You mean Marcelino and—"
"Yes, the others. Where are they?"
"Marcelino is at the greenhouse, Adeline is preparing the table in the dining room, and Laurence is in the kitchen cooking," Giovanni answers, and in an instant, Krimson drops what he's holding and looks at the doctor, his eyes smiling.
"Then I'll join them and take a quick break," he says, and before Giovanni could even complain, Krimson was already out of the door.
Krimson removes his gloves, his goggles, his gas mask, and then his suit before getting sprayed by the nurses outside. Soon after, he laughs and skips down the hallway to join Laurence in the kitchen.
The moment he arrived there, the other cooks who were assisting Laurence immediately started leaving, making Laurence give out a heavy sigh.
"Why on earth are you here again, Krimson?" Laurence asks with a tired tone, showing that they're been in this kind of situation a couple of times now.
