"Holy Smokies," Nikki muttered. "Hey, Kat? Alpha red alert. Kat! My baby llamas. Sweet cupcakes. Kat. Hottie alert."I raised my eyebrows.
"Scottie the hottie?" I said not bothering to look up. "You guys broke up, remember? And you're on boy detox."
"Dude. Scottie the hottie is nothing compared to this cookie. Can I take a bite? Ohmigosh. Walking towards us. Get low." She whispered. "I bet he won't even look at you. All that small butt."
"Hey!" I protested.
"Hi." A new voice appeared.
I looked up. Sweet baby-
He was shirtless. My eyes widened. His dark hair swept the amazing dusky tone of his skin. Strangers voice was smooth as velvet. Who walked shirtless in a café ? It wasn't his home.
"Please sit down." Nikki's voice sounded far away.
"Yes, of course." The boy smiled. His In between emerald -and- sea green eyes twinkling.
"Dude. No." I said flatly. "I'm sorry. But you need to find another chair."
"Nikki, go find a chair. Keep looking till you get a damn throne made of shadows."
I gasped. Nikki stood up quietly, and sauntered out. I shot up, but strangers hand coiled around sending chills up.
"Sit. Before I make her keep walking into the door."
"Darkmore." I hissed. Definitely. Two Darkmore's in less than 12 hours. What were the odds? Were they moving in.
"Oh, Kitkat, we are not moving in. This is our town. All you filthy Vindex outcast just feed our leftovers, we let you live here."
What?
"Not another word." He stood up letting the chair fall behind with such a force I was surprised it didn't shatter. "Follow me, if you choose otherwise your friend dies. You and me both know I can make that happen. Say another word your mentor. And if you aren't out of that chair in the next five seconds, your brother will be on my
Death Note too. Do you like Death Note?"I shot up from my chair. He turned and sauntered out just like Nikki did. I walked behind him. I cleared my head from all the strategies I was forming. I knew better than to plan against one.
We reached a black Lamborghini. That's when I felt three shadows behind us.
Don't attack. Not yet.
"Get in," Shirtless Stranger said holding the door open.
"Um. No, thanks?"
"Look, Kitkat, I can throw you in if you want."
"Don't call me that. First, take whatever you've done to my friend off her."
"You're in no position to make any negotiations."
One. Two-
Not letting myself finish my thoughts, I slid over her hood of the car to the other side. Making space between me and Shirtless.
"Nice. Don't slide over my baby." His voice grew hostile.
I drew the pocket knife out. There was no way in hell, earth and purgatory I could take the guy. The amount of dark energy resonating off him was enough to make the entire light filled parking lot cold.
"You're not taking me anywhere."
"Hell yeah, I am."
"Where?"
