"Are you okay?", Carina asks me as soon as she enters her car and looks at me sitting on the passenger side.
"I'm exhausted," I say throwing my head back.
"I bet," Carina says while she takes my hand. "You're still in recovery."
I smile when I feel Carina's lips on my hand.
"What did you promise them for not letting me drink tonight?" I ask raising my eyebrows at Carina.
"You think I bribed them?" Carina asks playfully while she turns on the engine.
"Mm-hmm," I close my eyes and nod.
"I'll have to cook lasagna for the next shift," Carina smiles proudly.
"You're terrible," I say, smiling at my wife.
"I know," Carina smiles back. She turns her eyes to the road again. "Now close your eyes, I'll let you know when we're home."
I follow her command, I want to talk to Carina about many things, but she's right, my body is still in recovery and I feel like I need some rest.
A few minutes later I hear the car engine turning off, I open one eye and look at Carina still holding the steering wheel, she looks lost in her thoughts, she anxiously bites her lower lip and then takes a deep breath.
I unbuckle my seatbelt and Carina looks at me.
"Are you okay?" I ask nervously.
"Yeah," Carina nods, while she unbuckles her seatbelt.
I'm wondering if she's having second thoughts about us, I know she loves me as much as I love her, but unfortunately love is not enough to keep a strong relationship, if it was we wouldn't be in this situation.
We get inside the building and I can't help to feel a little anxious, I have so many questions that I don't even know where to begin. We enter the elevator and behind us comes a neighbor I recognize, he greets us and presses the button to his floor. Carina stands behind me, but takes my arm and gets closer to me. I take a deep breath, relaxing, knowing that she's here with me, we are going to make it work.

"The Chief's article is coming out tomorrow," I read out loud the text Benjamin just sent me while Carina opens our apartment door.
"Oh, wow," Carina looks at me in surprise, her phone starts ringing but she immediately dismisses the call and starts walking in the apartment. "What do you think will happen?"
"I don't know," I say still standing by the door, I have no idea if they know I'm behind it and it starts to make me a little anxious.
"You think they know about what you did?" Carina asks, laying the keys on the table, her phone starts ringing again.
"I don't even remember what exactly did I do," I enter the apartment and look at Carina who again dismisses the call but starts getting text messages instead. "Carina, take it."
"Cazzo," Carina groans and opens the texts. "I'm sorry."
Carina looks at me apologetically before looking down to type on her phone. I look again at my phone and read again the text Benjamin just sent. A thousand questions running through my mind, what would this mean to my career if they manage to find out I'm behind it? Did I think this through when I decide to go with this it all those months ago?
"Maya, I have to go," Carina says without looking up from her screen but she manages to pass beside me and walk to the bedroom.
"Oh," I express surprised, this was supposed to be our night.
