Author's POV
Three widened eyes looked at the bloodied body on the ground and then towards the one who shot him. Taani stood in shock staring at the lifeless eyes of the man she spent so long with. His now blank eyes which were filled with love towards her were now empty. Empty. Not just like the darkeness, at least it has a sort of mystery and fear about him. It was emoty like a void and she knew she won't ever be able to forgive herself for this.
She broke down into a sob as she fell down to the floor and the gun fell off from her hand making a loud sound bringing the two other men out of their trance. She went towards the lifeless man and sitting besides him closed his eyes with her palm and muttering multiple apologies she kissed his forehead.
Here, the guy's heart clenched seeing her in that state. He was shocked when she pulled the trigger and killed him. He wasn't expencting that. After all, he was the one at her end of the target, not him.
He was meant to die, not Dishank!
Rey looked at the body wide eyed as he walked closer to Taani while Swayam watched bewildered as Rey gathered her in his arms trying to console her. Feeling herself in the arms of the man she loves with her whole heart she let herself cry all her miseries out. She knew that if she didn't kill Rey then Dishank would kill him and her for sure and she couldn't have let either of them die when the truth was out and they could have been together. She held him closer sobbing,
"An..Ansh. I believe you Ansh...I bel...believe you! I...I am ....I am sorry! I...betraye...betrayed you. Tum jo..jo chahe mujhe punishement de sakte ho. If you want to kill...."
He shushed her keeping his lips on hers while she stilled. Swayam smiled beautifully seeing the two and left giving them privacy, the man holding him hostage dead a long time back from his bullet. Rey kissed Taani softly while she hesitatingly reciprocated, he broke the kiss and muttered,
"Ab sab thik hai dove! Sab thik hai!"
She nodded hiccupping and holding him close,
"Ab kabhi chhodke to nahi jaoge na Ansh."
He chuckled,
"Chhodke tum gayi thi."
She whined and hit his shoulder making him chuckle more, as she said,
