"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Bell" my family and best friend sang around the kitchen table, while placing a fresh batch of pancakes infont of me.

I blew all 17 candles that had been messily stuck into the top pancake and wished for what I wanted: tickets to see Hometown in Vicar Street.

"What did you wish for sweetie?" My grandma asked sweetly.

"I can't tell you that gran" I chuckled, a wide grin on my face as I turned in the opposite direction.

I said goodbye to my best friend, Chloe. She lives right next door so we've been best friends since we could walk.

Your probably thinking "why hasn't she gotten any birthday gift yet" Well even though it's my birthday I still have to work. I know it's as dreadful as death to work on your birthday!

I work in a bakery in salthill just outside Galway city. Im the waitress , it's funny because im the clumsiest person ever but thank god nothing had gone wrong yet in my year of working here

The bakery isn't normally quite on a Saturday morning , you usually have a few of the locals coming in for there bread

"Hows the birthday girl" jen my boss asked while hugging me

Yea me and my boss are really close shes like a big sister to me even if shes over 30

"Alright i guess, how are you?" I ask as i place the fresh bread loafs in the brown display basket which was on the pastry display case.

"My nephew and his friends are coming in later, they are visiting for a few days" she says with a smirk , which leaves me to question who shes smirking about.
