The Journey: Second Ride

Max couldn't stop crying, she was engaged!? She never thought she'd be this happy, like ever.

She finally let go off Lucas, her eyes starting to swell from all the tears. He wiped her eyes and kissed her cheek.

"I love you so much." Lucas smiled at her, he stood up and held out his hand. "Let's go back inside, it's starting to get cold."

She grabbed his hand and stood up, "Yeah okay."

They slowly started walking back to the beach house, Max was in disbelief-

He held the door open for her as she walked in, all eyes turned on them as they walked in.

"You guys are back already??" Dustin asked looking at his watch.

Lucas nodded, "it started to get cold outside."

El was looking at Max, she was confused on why her eyes were so red.

"Max? You okay." El asked trying to make eye contact with her. Max just responded with a soft smile and nod, she assumed it would be best to keep this a secret. That was instantly ruined by Dustin shouting out,

"Hey were you wearing that ring before??"

Everybody looked at Max's finger, he was right she was wearing a ring.

"Yeah- I don't recognise that." Will shrugged.

Lucas smiled, he couldn't hold it in. "Well.."
everybody looked up at him confused, all apart from Eddie who was watching tv and wasn't paying attention.

"Well.." El said trying to get him to carry on.

Lucas looked at Max, who was still silently sobbing, he gently swung his arm around her neck.

"Well, we're engaged!" Lucas laughed.

El literally screamed and flew out of her chair towards Max, repeating the words "No way"

Will also ran over to Max, wiping the tears from her eyes and giggling with El. The three of them wondered off upstairs leaving Dustin, Eddie and Lucas alone downstairs.

"Congrats dude! When's the wedding??" He was trying to act cool but was secretly super excited and eager on the inside.

"I don't know yet dude, we only just got engaged." Lucas laughed, walking over to the couch.

"Eddie, you good dude?" Lucas turned to look at Eddie and realised he was fast asleep.

"ENGAGED!? IM STILL IN SHOCK." El shouted out, staring at the sparkling ring on Max's finger.

"I'm not, was it not obvious." Will said with a bit of sas, as he looked at his nails.

"Me too.." Max laughed, it sounded fake though.

"Woah- that was.. depressing. Are you not excited? You just got engaged?!" El asked Max, there's no way Max isn't excited about this- I mean Lucas and Max are always obsessing over each other.

"It's just.. doesn't this all seem rushed.." Max put her face in her hands.

"But your adults and your wedding probably won't be for another 2-3 years knowing Lucas so you would be either 22 or 23!" El put her hand on Max's shoulder.

"I know! I know!" Max rubbed the back of her neck.

"And your pregnant! Your starting a family together!" El was trying to make her happier.

"No! We're not!" Max shouted out.

"What do you mean?" El asked, confused now.

"I'm not pregnant! I thought I was- the test was positive! But I got my period. I guess the test was wrong.." Max sighed. "I had a private talk with Lucas about it and he sounded really excited and I was going to tell him on the beach! But he did this" Max pointed at the ring and sighed, "so I just couldn't do it.."

El's eyes were open wide, even Will was intrigued now.

"Oh God.. hun you need to tell him!" Will looked at Max.

"I can't-" Will cut her off,

"Trust me! I watched Glee. It does not work out well." Will crawled over to El and Max.

"Yeah shit goes down in Glee-" El nodded.

"What the hell is Glee?" Max asked.

"That doesn't matter! What matters is you tell Lucas, before it's to late and your whole relationship is messed up again." El put her hand on top of Max's.

"What if me telling him ruins our relationship. He's so happy, we are pretty much perfect. I feel like this will ruin it all." Max sighed. El tapped Max's face a bunch of times almost in an attempt to wake her up. "What are you doing now!?" Max was annoyed now.

"Are you on drugs?" El looked serious.

"What- No! Gosh, are you?!" Max looked at Will, who was laughing.

"I've had enough of this." El stood up and grabbed Max's hand. "WE. Are going to tell Lucas." El ran out the room, pulling Max behind her.

"LUCAS!!" She wailed down the stairs.

"What the fuck was that?" Eddie turned around. Max was trying to get El to let go off her, but she wouldn't.

El just poked her head down the stairs and pointed at Lucas, like really aggressively. He knew what it meant, so he sighed, got out of his seat and walked upstairs.

"Yes??" Lucas sighed.

"You and Max- need to talk." El said for Max, smiling.

"Oh okay-" Lucas nodded. "What about?"

"Privately Lucas." El rolled her eyes.

"Okay-" Lucas looked at Max, waiting for her to just say something. But she didn't, so he spoke to her instead. "Max??"

Max looked up at him, she looked sad but sort of relieved at the same time.. she held her hand out to him.

He grabbed her hand, she dragged him into their bedroom.

"So.. what do you want to talk about?" He sat on the bed as he watched her shut the door. She turned to look at him.

"I don't know if you're gonna be happy or sad about this- and they made me rush to tell you. So I guess I should say it-" Lucas cut her off.

"Stop stalling- it can't be that bad.." Lucas nervously chuckled.

"I'm not pregnant." Max looked up at Lucas who looked emotionless.

"Oh really?" Is all he said. Max just nodded at him.

She slowly walked over and sat next to him.

"I guess some part of me is relieved." Lucas put his hands in his lap. "I mean it did seem a bit soon and rushed." He looked at Max, "But I did.. like the idea of starting a family with you." He smiled, putting his hand on top hers. Until he realised something, "wait- did you lie about being pregnant? Why would you do that if you were just gonna break and say you werent??" He quickly took his hand off of hers.

"I didn't lie. I thought I sas, it was a positive pregnancy test- I thought I was pregnant! Until today. I got my period." She shrugged.

"Oh." He looked at her, "then it's not really your fault." He kissed her cheek. She smiled at him again.

"I love you." She kissed him. She was going to pull away, but he pulled her in closer deepening the kiss. She put her hand on his face, "Lucas," she laughed.

He laughed to, "okay okay, sorry. Love you to." He kissed her once more.

"I'm tired can we just go to bed??" Max looked him in the eye. He was already one step ahead of her and laid down.

He fell asleep almost instantly, Max playfully rolled her eyes. She was just happy she got that over with, it went better than she thought it would. But honestly I do not know what she was thinking?! Lucas is the kindest guy she knows, was she thinking he would just like dump or her something.

Here's a probably disappointing long awaited chapter 8. Literally it feels like it's been years- I'm so sorry. I plan to update soon (hopefully). Not much else to put here! I love you all <3
