Chapter 37

I turned my phone off, hearing the sound it made when it did so. My tears had dried as I faced reality. I needed to go back home, and go back to work. This wasn’t some book on Wattpad or whatever where a girl falls in love with someone and forgets about work and school. Oh no, this was real life. And in real life, you face challenges. One of these challenges meaning to try new things, meaning that you don’t get to see your family as often. I wasn’t going to lie, in London, I would miss my mum and such, but now that I finally met her after such a long time, I didn’t want to leave. I didn’t want to leave Jacob and Jessie. I wanted to get to know Ashley more, and to get to know Marcus as well. I wanted to talk to my father. I know, I know, my feelings for him are bipolar, but I couldn’t help it. At the end of the day, he was my dad and no matter of all the things he had done wrong, he was still family. I knew better to trust him but I would miss the fact knowing that at least my dad was in the same country as me. Now I’m in London and so much farther away.

“All electric devices should be turned off at this point.” The announcer’s voice came though the plane.

I sighed, my breath shaky as I looked out of my window. It was still dark as the sun hadn’t risen yet. I placed my head on the cool glass of the window, bringing my knees up to my chest. I was pretty tired, since it was like freaking 5 in the morning, but I couldn’t sleep. The plane started to move, indicating that we had taken off.

“You okay?” Josh asked looking at me, concern clear in his eyes.

“Yeah, fine.” I mumbled quietly. I was sitting next to Niall, and next to Niall, was Josh.

The sign started blinking showing that we were allowed to turn on our devices. I immediately turned my phone on, and shoved my headphones into my ears.

I listened to the soothing music, making me close my eyes. My eyelids felt heavy, and eventually sleep did come to me, making me forget about my problems for a bit.

*

Someone lightly moved my shoulder, making me stir in my sleep. My hands flew to my eyes, rubbing them. Once I was somewhat awake, I opened my eyes to see that the plane was pretty much empty.

“Come on, before this plane takes off to Belgium.” Niall teased. I let out a groan standing up.

“Where are my bags?” I asked.

“Already took them out, come on.” Niall urged. I stepped into the aisle and walked down the already empty airplane. The walk to the actual airport was silent, none of us speaking.

I let out a yawn, which caught Niall’s attention.

“Still tired?” He asked a little smirk growing on his lips.

I let out a noise which was in between a groan and moan.

“Shut up.” I fired back.

“You look like a princess.” Niall cooed pinching my cheeks. I swatted his arm away giving him a glare. I immediately took out my phone and went to the camera, looking how I looked. My hair was standing up in every direction possible, the straps of my white tank top falling down, one leg of my sweat pants rolled up, my back cardigan falling of one of my shoulders. Basically I looked like I just had been attacked by a bunch of rapists but managed to get away. I sighed as I put my phone back into my bag, and then pulled my hair into a messy bun on my head. I fixed my tank top and sweats and ran a hand over my face. At least I looked a bit more presentable, maybe. Actually, not at all, but it could do.  Niall and I stepped into the busy airport, looking for the exit.
