no matter how close y/n thought she was, she was always a bit too far from getting to the love of her life, jeon jungkook, aka her best friend.
when he comes back to korea after suddenly leaving her, why does he feel like he's slowly falling in love...
"kook~" i drag out his name to summon the bunny man.
without even greeting me back, he jumps up and down in obvious excitement.
"y/n!! guess what?!" he squealed as a wide grin painted his cute face.
i put my finger on my chin and hum slowly to tease his impatient ass.
"hmm, you got accepted into that basketball team you wanted to join?" his face turned sour as he shook his head a no.
"stooooop, that was so long agooo." he whined and i let out a laugh.
back in sixth grade, jungkook had a major obsession with a sucky basketball team and wanted to join them oh so badly.
i guess he came to the realization that they weren't the best people to hang around with.
let's just say they got arrested to some not so pretty stuff.
"fine, i don't know." i say, and it's true!
i have no clue about what he could be so excited about.
my smile faded as i heard the very words i never wanted to hear in my life come out his mouth.
"jina and i are finally dating."
my insides felt like they were being turned in the most uncomfortable way possible and my throat was now creating a lump.
because this person, the same person who i grew up with, who was there during my lowest, who stood up for me when no else did,
the person who i love
is now in a relationship with someone else.
i tried to keep a bright smile despite my urge to go bawl my eyes out and congratulate him.
"i'm so happy for you kook! i'm glad you finally found someone!!" i say and he hugs me tightly.
"thank you y/n. i was scared about your reaction since she kinda- you know, wasn't so nice yesterday. but thank you, seriously, i'm so happy with her."

i really wish that was me.
that i was her.
"gosh kook, don't worry! i best it was just a misunderstanding, i'll support you with every decision." i say as i feel myself start to pull away before i start crying in his embrace.
"thank y-" his sentence got cut off by a ring tone.
excusing himself he answered it and wowie wow wow guess who it was?

"okay, i'll see you darling, love you." he said with a big smile and turned back to me.
gosh that smile does things to me.
i quietly sigh in the quite loud setting and get closer to side hug him.
"i'll see you later kook, i've gotta do some stuff back home." he nodded and hugged me back.
"alright, see ya tomorrow!" i nodded and walked away with a heavy feeling on my chest.
this was going to a shit ton harder than i thought.
