Forks, Washington was a dull and extremely dreary place to reside. With a mere population of around 3000 people it was also quite small. However, it was undeniably perfect for Harley Reeves.

Harley, a rather pale, short girl originally from London, England thought there was no other place for her than England, but in fact the complete opposite. Many decades ago she was bitten by another vampire, her undead life began at the young age of twenty years, she made the tough decision to up and leave England as soon as possible, without saying goodbye to any of her immediate family and friends. Hence her being in the States. She had to give up copious amount of things in her life, her family, friends, relationships. She knew she couldn't stay where she was, moving was her only option.

She knew it was not an option to tell anyone, it just made sense, she'd surely be killed if anyone found out so since then she's built a fairly normal, (well as normal as can be) life for herself. She swore she wouldn't kill another human, she thought no one should go through the pain she had felt during her transformation, so she trained herself to become what vampires deemed a vegetarian, in the vampire style of course. Living off animals whenever she needed to feed. It was definitely tough but she managed it. Although animal blood wasn't as tasty as human blood it gave her the necessary energy and quenched her thirst.

She enrolled into Forks High School as soon as she felt she was confident enough, though thankfully it was almost instantly after she arrived and settled into her small home in a secluded area about a mile from the school.
She was on her own but her adapted feeding habits ensured the safety of her secret and proved only to herself, being the only one who she needed validation from, that she wasn't a typical nomad no matter what other vampires had told her previously.
Being undead just shy of 106 years meant she had more than enough time to save her money and gave her the financial stability she needed.

She quickly realised she wasn't the only newbie at the School. March was an odd month to start at a new school, being the middle of the semester and all but thankfully the attention was on the human newbie who went by the name of Bella Swan. She knew this because Bella was in a few of her classes, they'd sat together in a couple of them and engaged in small conversation. Bella being the instigator for the most part though she seemed pretty introverted herself.
She was still weary of the young mortal girl though. Harley was quite an awkward girl but so was Bella so it made Harley feel a little better.

She knew it was beneficial to keep herself to herself but she had a feeling this time, many schools later, it would be different. Well she hoped anyway.
When she was turned, she instantly stopped aging, making it easier to blend in at any school she went to, although technically she was 20 she'd always looked quite young for her age so it worked well for her, her days were kept busy, when she knew her nights would be lonely. However graduating over and over again got a bit boring after a while.

Lunch was quiet. Harley figured it was easier to sit outside on her own than try and find a lone table in the canteen. The weather wasn't anything special, the sky was grey, the air was chilly, and the wind had started to pick up a bit.
She spent most of her time doing her school work seeing as eating human food wasn't an option. Her peace was disturbed by her fellow newbie, apparently her new friends were a bit full on.

The two girls sat in silence. It was awkward at first but soon Harley felt slightly more at ease for the first time in a long time.

Harley would only talk to people when she was spoken to, she was fairly shy and timid but could stand up for herself when she needed. Meeting new people was still something that gave her immense anxiety, you'd think differently given how many times she'd been through this, joining a new school thing. But it never got any easier.
