Sorry this is late! Had a power outage. But we're back in business bitchesss!

------------

They were done.

They had made a magic circle using salt. Yes, salt. Kitchen table salt.

Why?

Because they had nothing else to use.

Luckily, they had actual candles and could use those. Though, they were the scented kind in glass jars. So, their magic circle was looking a bit weird... But it would definitely work.

Marvin had used his magic to locate and move around the toy Robbie had lost- this way, 'Jimmy' could stay away longer. But now he lost focus and forgot about it while getting the candles. Now, he was adding the finishing touches so that he could finally just say the line.

If he had known that 'Jimmy' had outside help, he would've certainly been less careless.

"Alright everyone, I need you to step the fook back and let me do my thing!" Marvin gave his hair a small flip and stepped forward confidently. As he looked down towards his book, he didn't notice the window opening...

Or the Sam plushie that was behind it.

Marvin mumbled the spell a few times to make sure he had the pronunciation down, before clearing his throat. From the sidelines, Jameson gave him a cheerful thumbs-up. And with that, the magician let his eyes go black as he opened his mouth, releasing a series of quiet words that seemed to have their own, unintelligible echo.

And the plushie- who was now just inside the window- dropped to the floor with a disheartened thump.

Jameson gave a silent gasp as he saw the plushie. And right next to it was a little car Robbie loved to play with...

The mute felt regret swelling inside his heart. Here he was, supporting Marvin in the attempt to kill his new friend, in front of his new friend!... And now it was a dead friend. With slight bitterness, Jameson went over to pick up the toys.

But Robbie himself stilled. It may sound strange, but as a zombie, his physical senses were off... But he had other senses. He could sense auras and emotions radiating off of them. He could tell if someone was hostile, friendly, had good intentions, or just if they were a bad person.

But he couldn't sense any of those right now... The curse had no aura- anything inanimate or dead couldn't, with the exception of Darkiplier- it just had a feel to it. Robbie could just know where it's main point of focus was almost as easily as tracking down a person. And that's what it felt like, too. A person. And the way he could feel it...

Was through emotions.

This thing that was getting less and less likely to be a curse... Could feel emotion. And that sense of emotion was felt all throughout the house, like the building was the thing. But there was always a certain point it was most dense around... And right now, that spot was right next to the Sam plush.

And the feeling was cold. It was like a slight chill that came with a numbness. A feeling of isolation.

But it was also giving off another feeling... Something that got hotter and hotter until it reached the burning point.

The other Septics seemed to notice the latter as the house began to tremble. Doors opened by almost an inch and closed again, giving a steady rhythm of click, bump

Robbie gave a soft growl, grabbing Jameson by the arm and pulling him away from the toys.

For the rest of the family, this action seemed like a defense for Jameson. Indicating that the presence in the room was hostile and needed protected from. But that wasn't Robbie's intention in the slightest...

He just wanted to get what made 'Jimmy' sad away from where the main point of focus was.

"MARV, IS THIS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN?!" Jackie yelped, getting zapped from the console he bumped into. Something serious was happening- and he was ready to strangle Marvin if he said what everyone thinks he's going to say!

"I-I don't know! I didn't read it through all the way!" The magician admitted regretfully. "I'm going to fucking strangle you, dumbass!" The hero threatened with no real back behind his words.

Robbie enhanced his senses as best he could, straining to get a proper hold of the form he was seeing. And at last, when he saw something that resembled something solid, he reached out...

He reached out to hold its hand.

But everything went black.

And all that Robbie could feel were the disappearing traces of the sadness the 'curse' held.

But as the light turned back on, and he could no longer feel the aura in the house... Something told him that this was far from over.

In fact, it hadn't even begun.

The next day...

------------

When they tried the door to see if they were still locked in, they found that it opened with ease. They were all free to go to and from work as they pleased...

But they had to admit that they were all a bit disappointed when Henrik was able to open the door.

The 'curse' hadn't been that bad, had it...? The worst it did was break a few light bulbs seemingly on accident. And so long as they didn't say anything to set it off, it was helpful. It probably would've just let them out of its own free will...

Little did they know... That's exactly what it did.

Everyone went out for either work or just fresh air, except for Marvin and Jackie. The magician had to clean up his magic circle, and Jackie didn't want to leave him alone just in case the thing wasn't really gone.

Marvin went to the kitchen to throw the salt away and put the broom and dustpan back... And Jackie sighed, turning to the toys that were left on the floor. Only to nearly jump out of his skin.

"What the-?!" Jackie would've shouted, but all he could muster was a breath. And even that was taken away.

There was something standing over the toys, swaying gently and looking as if a mere breeze could make it dissolve.

The thing staring back at him was completely white, nearly transparent. It had no features aside from black lines outlining eyes and a mouth. But even then, it looked like an unfinished sketch. The eyes weren't even colored in, nor did it have pupils or irises. The 'eyes' were just... There.

And yet the next second, it wasn't there at all. Jackie had blinked in shock, and the thing had disappeared. The hero didn't even get to have a good look at the rest of it... He saw it for a few seconds max, and it was gone.

...

"...Marvin...? I don't think we're dealing with a curse..." The hero muttered, shaking his head as he came to a realization.

This thing had free will, emotions, could go outside, and did a lot of things a curse wouldn't.

It wasn't a curse. No, not in the slightest.
