A whole day passed with nothing but tension and Marvin memorizing the spells he needed.

There were three spells he needed- one being the banishing spell he used before. The other two were a tracking spell and the spell that he was pretty sure would finally destroy the spirit.

Tracking, banishing, and killing. In that order, or it wouldn't work.

That next morning, the air was still.

He could instantly tell that the spell had worn off.

All he had to do now was wait until Sam showed its physical form.

Marvin got out of bed with a groan, stretching and hearing a satisfying pop. "Oooh~ Big stretch!" He turned with annoyance to his brother, who was lying next to him in the pillow fort. Yeah, they decided to have another sleepover.

"Ha. Ha. Very funny, jackass." Marvin rolled his eyes but cracked a smile anyways, before reaching over the other to grab his cat mask. While he was leaning over Jackie, the hero leaned up and gave him a kiss on the jaw. "Eeeew... What the fuck, man?" Marvin scrunched his face up in disgust, putting his mask on and leaning away.

"Hahahaha! You're just like a fookin' cat! One second you want attention, the next you're throwing a hissy-fit over it." Jackie chuckled, getting up as well. "Fuck off. Get out of my room so I can change my clothes." Marvin stood up and spelled the pillow fort away with the wave of his hand.

"Yes sir. I'll warm some milk up for you." Jackie grunted. Marvin had this weird thing where he didn't like to drink cold milk for some reason, but nobody was to question it.

As Jackie left, Marvin snapped his fingers and was instantly in his magician's outfit again. He then went to his attached bathroom so he could look in the mirror while styling his hair. Yes, he styled his hair. Unlike the other Septic egos- who only put an effort into their looks when they were going somewhere- he cared about his appearance a LOT.

After all, a magician goes out in front of a crowd of people constantly! He OBVIOUSLY had to care about how he looked, even if he was inside all day.

It took about ten minutes before he was ready to go downstairs. Yes, ten minutes

"Looking fabulous~" He purred at his reflection, putting on some perfume to top it all off.

He remembered a while ago, before the ghosts showed up... Marvin had ONE day where he went to get breakfast before brushing his hair, and Henrik kicked up a fuss. Chuckling to himself at the memory, he went back to his main room to go downstairs, but he suddenly felt something really off.

"Fuck..." He breathed a sigh, getting a bad feeling. But surely Sam wouldn't come after him so soon after the spell wore off?

Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap!

Marvin turned to the window, confused. Was it raining?

But there was no water.

Tap, tap, tap, tap, tap!

The noise repeated again, from the window to his left. He whirled around to see what might be causing the trouble, but there was nobody and certainly still no rain.
