Prince Benjamin, son of Beauty and The Beast, the leaders of Auradon, was getting fitted for his coronation in his bedroom.

His attention had been on the small island that had never seen a sunny day. He had been having dreams about different people who were stuck there.

He could vividly remember a glimpse of red hair but nothing more.

He knew who it was though. He knew it was her but he was never allowed to bring up what happened eight years ago.

His parents speaking brought him out of his head. A place where he had been inside of more lately.

"How is it possible that you're going to be crowned king next month? You're just a baby!" His father, King Beast spoke.

He had lived with the guilt of betraying his friend eight years ago and with that guilt he refuses to speak about anything that occurred.

He's turning 16, dear." His wife Belle spoke. There was a bit of a strain since that day. She had advocated very earnestly to have Madelyn stay with them. She saw the girl as a daughter and it hurt so much when her husband made the decision that she would go to the isle. It hurt even more when she had to be the one to pack her bag, despite her husband's disagreement.

She knew that the girl should have some stuff from home, although it would be the same. She made sure to sneak in a picture of her father and Ben. knowing she'd want them the most.

She also put in her friendship necklace from Ben. She couldn't bear to see her son's face when he was told what had happened to the girl he loved, his best friend, his secret crush.

"Hey, pops." Ben spoke to his father, who was still in disbelief.

"16? That's far too young to be crowned king. I didn't make a good decision until I was at least 42." The king spoke.

Uh, you decided to marry me at 28." Belle intervened, giving him a look.

Ah, it was either you or a teapot." Adam spoke causing his son to laugh but when he looked to his wife seeing the glare on her face he cleared his throat. "Kidding."

Ben was weighing his decision to speak in his head for a second until he finally got the courage to tell his parents what he had been thinking.

"Mom, dad..." Against the attempts that Lumiere tried to keep him still, he turned away from the isle and looked to his parents.

"I've chosen my first official proclamation. I've decided that the children on the isle of the lost be given a chance to live here in Auradon." As he spoke his parents froze with shock. He decided to explain his reasoning in hopes they would support him.

"Every time I look out to the island, I feel like they've been abandoned."

"The children of our sworn enemies, living among us?" To say the beast completely disagreed was an understatement. He was thinking of the people of Auradon but couldn't help but let the lingering thoughts of the Hatters pop into his head. He shook his head, trying to shake the thought away. His efforts were a failure.

"We start out with a few at first, only the ones who need our help the most. I've already chosen them." Ben tried to reason with him. He knew he couldn't have everyone from the isle come to Auradon at once, it would cause a riot.

"Have you?" Adam spoke with uncertainty in his voice. He didn't believe that people could change from their wickedness.

"I gave you a second chance. Who are their parents?" Belle spoke to him. In her story he was the villain in the beginning and then turned into a hero, her love. Anybody could have a second chance, everyone deserves a second chance at redemption.

"Cruella De Vil... Jafar... Evil Queen... and Maleficent. " He spoke slowly and hesitantly, knowing people wouldn't be too keen on Maleficent.

He was correct.

Everybody was shocked at his proclamation. Lumiere even screamed a little when Ben spoke of the evil fairy. Adam was beyond upset because of it.

"Maleficent! She is the worst villain in the land!" The king exclaimed to his son. His mind went to all the chaos she caused, especially to Queen Leah. The fairy made sure she never saw her baby again, at least not till she was older. And then she was put to sleep for years.

"Dad, just hear me out here!" Ben pleaded with his father. He wanted him to understand what he was thinking. He wanted him to see both sides of the mirror.

"I won't hear of it. They are guilty of unspeakable crimes." Beast spoke, his authority dripping from his voice.

"Dad, their children are innocent. Don't you think they deserve a shot at a normal life? Dad?" Ben told his father with sincerity and passion in his voice.

The king heard all the emotion in his voice, he knew his son was to be king, he was prideful his son was passionate about the kingdom. He considered his son's idea for a minute.

"I suppose their children are innocent." The king spoke afterwards.

Ben looked relieved he was supporting his idea but didn't know what he would think about the next part he was to speak about.

"Well, well done. Shall we?" Belle spoke after thinking the conversation was over.

As the King and queen were walking out of the room. Ben stopped them once more.

"Actually, there is one more person I am bringing to Auradon."

"Don't you think five Villain kids is pushing it a little too much Son?" Adam spoke, he was willing to support his son but adding another person might cause a ruckus. He was already bringing Maleficent's child, who else could he be bringing?

"Well, she was here before you banished her away." Ben spit out, not on purpose but he was still upset about what happened to his friend.

Beast face showed confusion, he genuinely had no idea who his son was talking about. Belle already knew who he was talking about when he was banished. Her sad smile turned into a happy one. She wanted nothing more for that girl to come back home.

"And who would that be?" Adam asked. The answer shocked him.

"Madelyn Winona Hightop Hatter. She is to be coming back to Auradon, nothing will change my mind otherwise." Ben spoke, his voice leaving no reasoning.

Adam simply stood shocked at his son. He knew it hurt him when he saw what happened in town square but he didn't know he held a grudge.

The King said nothing else, he gave a stiff nod and left the room. Belle stood there for a second, she looked out the window towards the isle. Ben was looking at his mother and saw the tears gather in her eyes. He walked over to her and held her hand.

That seemed to break her out of her trance. She looked down to her son's hand holding hers and looked up at her son. His eyes looked down at her. She gave a watery smile. A single tear drop falling from her right eye.

"Bring her home, Ben. Bring Maddie home." She squeezed her son's hand. She let go, leaning up to give him a kiss on the cheek. She glanced once more at the isle then left the room.

Ben looked over at the Isle, he smiled a sad longing smile. He walked over to his bedside table. He opened the drawer to reveal a small jar. The tag drink me hanging from the stem of the bottle.

Inside the bottle was a bit of tea. Ben smiled at the bottle, Maddie's words traveling in his head.

"You must always be prepared for tea time Benny"

He placed the bottle back in his drawer, next to the single picture he had of his and Maddie. He had snuck it from her room before the King had boarded up the Hightop cottage.

He sucked in a breath and looked back at the isle.

"I'm gonna bring you back home Maddie, if it's the last thing I ever do." He whispered.
