WE RAN all the way, slowing down now. "Check your mirror," M said.
"Is my mascara smudged?" E gasped.
"Yup, also wanna see if you can find us the wand?" I nodded.
"Sure, this way." She pulled out her mirror, and we began sprinting again up a staircase, peering through a glass door.
We stared at the screens, a security guard was watching, before he turned around towards us. The four shifted off to the side while I went invisible. I let myself be visible again, and they came back, looking at Maleficent's Spinning Wheel.
"That's your mother's spinning wheel?" Jay laughed.
"Yeah, it's dorky," Carlos commented, agreeing.
"It's magic. It doesn't have to look scary." Mal shrugged before using her spell book to cast a spell. "Magic spindle, do not linger. Make my victim prick a finger."
Nothing happened.
"Impressive," Jay said smugly.
"I got chills." The white-haired boy held up his arm and the two began snickering.
"Okay, you know what?" She scoffed, lifting her hand up at their faces. "Prick the finger, prick it deep. Send my victim off to sleep."
The guard pricked his finger and yawned, setting himself on the platform of the spinning wheel. He soon after fell asleep.
"Not so dorky now, huh?" M smirked, grabbing the door handle and shaking it before realizing the door was closed.
"Stand back." Jay grinned, backing up.
"Make it easy, make it quick, open up a kick." She read off a page in her book and the doors flew open.
"Ahh!" My brother yelled, attempting to kick the already open, doors open but landing on his butt. I laughed with the two females, walking by him.
"You coming?" I giggled, ruffling up his hair. We tip-toed passed the guard, going down the hall.
Evie panted, pointing up. "So close. Upstairs."
"Come on. Go, go, go, go." M stayed behind last, and we went all the way, following the Evil Queen's daughter. "Up, up, up, up, up."
"Come on, guys. Almost there." E directed and we turned the corner, being led into a room of statues. Not just any statues, statues of our parents.
The four walked closer, muttering something each, but I interrupted them. "Guys, the wands are not here. Let's bounce."
Jay shook his head, "Let's go."
Eve and Carlos followed as we continued down the halls. E suddenly stopped, making us almost run into her. "Where's Mal?"
"She must have stayed behind." I shrugged my shoulders.
"I'll be back." She stated, going back. Minutes later, the two came back. We approached a railing, bending over and looking down at the magical wand on a level lower.
"There it is." She gasped.
"Whoo!" Jay exclaimed, running to a golden gate on the other side of the room. We ran all the way downstairs to it and when we four arrived, J was already about to grab it.
We smiled, holding the protective railing. My brother bent under the fence when I realized something. "Jay, don't!"
Obviously, he didn't listen. He touched the barrier and it threw him back. An alarm blared in our ears and I groaned, slamming my hands over my ears.
"A force field and a siren!?" Carlos shouted.
"That's just a little excessive." J groaned, attempting to get up, while I ran over and pulled him up.
"Let's go!" Mal ordered and we followed her. We ran out the door, but I glanced behind me, back at the museum, and saw Carlos at the counter, talking into the telephone.
"Carlos!" I whispered/shouted and he looked at me.
"You're welcome." He sighed as I grabbed his hand, pulling him out of the building.
"Come on!"
"Way to go, Jay! Now we have to go to school tomorrow." Mal hit his arm as we ran back to the school dorms.
─── ⊹⊱ NEXT DAY ⊰⊹ ───
I was striding down the halls, wearing a kind of lavender corset tank top and black leather jeans, with black gloves and silver jewelry. As I passed people, students whispered behind their hands in fear or ran away, being terrified. Their reactions made me giggle to myself. Maybe this place wasn't so bad...
I opened my locker with my small purple backpack over my shoulder. I took out what I needed, slamming the door closed and when I turned around, I almost collided with someone. I looked up and smiled, it was Carlos.
"Hey, Whitehair. What's up?" I greeted, and he chuckled, bag over his shoulder too.
"N-nothing, just wanted to walk to class with you." He shrugged with a tint covering his cheekbones.
"All right. Where's Jay?"
"Probably flirting with the girls or stealing." He guessed, scratching the back of his neck.
"Mhm..." I hummed.
"Where's Mal and Evie?"
"I think Evie is in the bathroom fixing her makeup and Mal is...somewhere. Oh, have you seen the looks people give us?" I giggled, glancing down the hall at a few.
"Yeah, it's weird." He furrowed his brows, looking behind him at a group of girls who were whispering with wide eyes.
"Really? I find it funny. It's nice to know people fear you enough to run away." I smirked, walking side by side with him to Remedial Goodness 101.
"You look at things oddly, Cece." He commented with a bright smile.
"Thanks, Carlos." I chuckled as my hand brushed his.
