I TURNED around, about to leave the Amphitheatre when I heard Carlos. "Cerise, hey! Hey!"

"Carlos, what's up?" I twirled back around towards him, looking down as he was down on the bottom floor. He was standing on top of one of the patterned yellow and blue blocks, glancing behind him at Dude who barked.

"Uh, not much, you?" He shrugged his shoulders.

"Nothing really, but I do need to help Evie with the dresses for Cotillion seeing as hundreds of girls ordered one." I sighed, running a hand through my hair.

"Oh, yeah, that sucks... but speaking of Cotillion-"

"Oh, actually I need to talk to Mal after, she's been off lately. And then I have to knock some sense into Jay for the whole Lonnie situation, 'cause he's being an idiot actually listening to Chad." I rolled my eyes, exhaling again.

"Right, uh... I was wondering if you would... um..." He stuttered once again, confusing me - once again. "If you would come and talk t-to me after. It's kinda important."

"Yeah, of course. I'll come by your dorm as soon as I can." I nodded with a bright smile. "Also great practice, Carlos." I walked out, going down the stairs to our next class.

I found Jay in the hallway, heading to his dorm room. "Jay!" I shouted, catching up with him, and he halted in his place.

"What'd you need, sis?" He asked with his signature smirk.

"I need to talk to you about Lonnie. I found out a way for her to be on the team and not break the rules." I explained, face to face with him.

"Ok, what is it?"

"You make her captain." I grinned.

"What about Coach?" He reminded me.

"He trusts you like you said right?" I reminded him, hand on my hip.

"I'll think about it, Ce." He sighed, fixing his long brown hair.

"Good. See ya, bro." I hit his shoulder, walking to my dorm. I opened the door, throwing my bag on my bed. "Hey, E." I greeted her while she was hooking a dress up on the rack.

"Hi, I need you to help me sketch out Chad's cape, he changed his idea." She announced, pushing my sketchbook and pencil in my hands.

"All right, let's start," I said, sitting down at the desk, and she began describing what the boy wanted.

"He wanted a royal blue colour, touching the floor with feathers.

"Do you know where Mal is?" I asked Evie before exiting our bedroom.

"She's on her date with Ben, it's Thursday." She replied, not looking up from her laptop while tapping her fingers on her keyboard.

"Oh, right. Thanks, Eve!" I yelled, shutting the door behind me. I guess I should head to Carlos' room, he said he wanted to talk to me, claiming it was important. I strode down the corridor, gently rapping at his door.

"Enter!" Some random voice I did not recognize at all responded. I twisted the knob, pushing it open.

"Who said that?" I questioned, shocked as I stared at Carlos who was on his bed, petting Dude.

"It was Dude." Carlos sighed, glancing at the furry puppy.

"Dude can talk?" I furrowed my eyebrows, standing beside the table in the middle of the room.

"Yeah, I'll explain after I t-talk to you about this thing." He stated, getting on his feet and coming closer to me.

"You're worrying me lately, Carlos. You keep saying you have this thing to say or ask." I admitted while he played with his fingers in front of me.

"Yeah, I-I know." He nodded his head, nervousness in his eyes.

"Whatever it is, you can tell me, you know?" I reassured him, palm resting on his shoulder.

"I know, it's just difficult, but I wanted to ask if you'd... go to Cotillion with me? And maybe more right now if our friendship isn't ruined because of this?" He asked with a deep exhaled, pink tint to his flushed face. I said nothing for a few seconds, staring at him in disbelief. "If you don't want to, we should just forget this ever happene-"

I leaned forward, holding his jaw in my palms while pressing my lips to his. His eyes widened before falling shut and resting his arms around my hips, kissing me back without hesitation. His lips against mine felt right like it was meant to be - maybe it was.

"Gross! Stop eating each other's faces!" Dude grimaced, covering his eyes with his paw while lying on his stomach. We pulled apart for a breather and I let out a stifled laugh as I rested my head on his chest.

"Yes." I smiled, lifting my chin up and looking into his eyes deeply. "Of course, Carlos."

"Good, I was so scared this would ruin everything we had." He copied my smile, moving a lock of my hair behind my ear.

"Never in a million years." I giggled, leaning in for another chaste kiss.
