After my awful encounter with 'Hunter' I huffed and went on my Daisy, sick and tired of annoying people, a certain guy in particular. To try and take my mind of him I look at my cute bicycle, it's a warm yellow and has a specific retro vibe. Yes, I name my most important possessions, because they deserve a name. Once I reached home I read a note on the kitchen door.
Sweetie, revise for the maths test. We are going to be back by 7.
Mum xxxI sighed and went to eat my pizza in the lounge. I started watching Tiaras and Toddlers as James came in and snatches the remote from me, changing the channel into some kind of formula 1 car racing.
"James, I was watching that!" I whine, still half-shocked by the violent attack from James.
"Does it look like I give a damn." He says imitating my voice.
That was it, this was war. I let my plate of crusts stay on the couch and leap onto James, he loses balance and is on the floor, stunned by animalistic tactics. I'm trying to grab the remote from his hand but each time I miss. Suddenly an idea bursts through and I start tickling him like crazy. He almost instantly shrivels and I grab the remote, going back to my couch with a grin of victory. James leaves with a frown on his face. Serves him right.
I grunt, as I watch another hour go by. 6:35, I really should start revising soon. I get up, still staring longingly at the couch that I was sitting on and go upstairs, I take my algebra and start revising like there's no tomorrow.

I wake up with my alarm, and realise that I'd been hitting snooze 4 times. With a final push, I get my legs out of the warmth from my bed and grumpily get to my bathroom. I'm not one of those morning people, who get up with a smile plastered on their face and can hear the chirping birds outside, a sign that the day was going to beautiful. No, I was more one of those people who had bad breath, bad bed hair, and just a horrible empty space in my stomach growling for food. I hope there are still normal people in the world.
I stare at my mirror and see the same disappointing reflection, but I cheer up a little as I was still the proud owner of my glowy orange tan. In England, the reality of getting a real tan without using fake tan was almost nil. Luckily my last holiday at Greece hadn't let me down as it looks like the tan hasn't worn out yet.
Quickly scanning the little clothes I owned in my wardrobe, I end up putting on a pair of dark washed jeans and a T-shirt. After tying my hair in a simple plait, I put my converses on. Unlike most secondary schools in England, mine wasn't restricted to wearing uniforms, which my mum thought was a bloody shame. In contrast, I love just wearing what I want, a sense of freedom. Not that I was even slightly fashionable, oh well.
I put on some concealer to hide my tired face and go downstairs.
"Good morning honey." Mum says in a chirpy voice. Before I can answer James brushes past me and sits in the table sniffing the air.
"Food." He grunts. I wonder if every guy turned into a zombie when they were hungry, I mean James was one anyway, but his true personality always seems to spill when he was hungry. He was leaving today for University, thank goodness for that.
"Good morning James." Mum says sternly. James just nods before jamming his mouth with some beans and toast. I sit down eating some too. I manage a few mouthfuls before I soon realise that I had about five minutes to reach the bus stop. I quickly peck my mum on the cheek, and give a weird fist pump to James, who was still engrossed in his food to even notice that I was leaving.
Waiting at the bus stop was my most favourite time, I would just sit there and read, or listen to music or talk to Sadie. It was just a calm and peaceful place. Sadie is my best friend. She knows a hell of a lot about me, so much that a normal person would be afraid. Her chestnut coloured hair, and hazel eyes seems to welcome you whenever you are around her. Sadie had always been popular, she was just so bubbly and sweet that's it was hard from keeping away from her too long. She had a certain aura that made you feel happy, there was never anything that could really make her upset, but she took pride on being a really great friend. I was over the moon when she came up to me as I sat alone in the canteen and told me a weird fact about kissing and then took me under her wing when I transferred school three years ago. Since then we've become very close, of course it was always her everyone noticed, and I was more like the nameless sidekick who she always hung out with for no apparent reason, but I was fine with that title. Being invisible was a specialty of mine anyways.
I look up, as she walks towards me sitting on the bench at the bus stop.
"Hey Jade!" She has a positive glow oozing from her, I instantly relax and take in the warmth from her smile.
"Look at you, always looking beautiful." Sadie had an impeccable taste in fashion, unlike me. She just seemed to know what went with anything. Right now she had some skinny jeans, a long thin button up shirt and a long owl necklace with some pumps. She is a little obsessed with owls at the moment, apparently 'they're so in'.
"Aw, don't flatter me or I'll get too big headed." She says, gesturing her head growing with her hands. I laugh at her animated face. She comes and sits down next to me, the bus was late yet again.
"You'd never believe whose back in town." She says, wide eyed. Before I can explore my guesses, she continues. "Remember I told you about a boy called Drake, a year older than us, who got expelled cause he apparently almost burned down the school and was caught in a super bad gang."she says hardly taking a breath.
"Oh yeah. He left before I came." I sigh, another legendary historical moment in our boring school that I missed out on.
"Well apparently he's back and he's back with his mysterious little brother, who used to live in the States with his uncle, due to the Johnson's having their hands pretty full with Drake. But now that Drake has 'calmed down', his little brother is staying with them again." Sadie says, giddy from excitement. Gee, it must've been awful living so far away from your family just cause of your brother taking your parent's full attention. I'd hate James forever if I was that guy. But more importantly, I want to know why on earth his parents thought naming a child 'Drake' was a great idea. I mean, that was just asking for trouble.
"Shouldn't er- Drake- be at university now?" I ask.
"Drake? University? Ha! No, rumor says that he's doing some community service or something, but that's not what's important."Sadie tells me, as if it was quite obvious.
"It's not?" I ask her, confused. Personally, I think the guy who set our school on fire coming back to our village was quite an important and slightly frightening issue to discuss, but it doesn't look like Sadie feels the same way.
"No, silly. The important part is that his little brother is the same age as us. He's supposedly super hot, picture breath taking blue eyes, lip piercings..." Whilst Sadie babbles on about this guy, my heart starts to hammer in my chest, I finally whisper the burning question.
"What's his name?" I say struggling to keep my heart under control.
"Hunter." Sadie says dreamily, with a sparkle in her eye.
I internally groan. Great! I guess I would be seeing that absolute jerk from yesterday evening every freaking day! The journey to school was filled with Sadie talking on and on about the Johnson's. They moved away due to Drake being expelled, and Mr Johnson finding a new job. But they're back cause Mr Johnson's job got transferred here again, unfortunately.
Sadie gives me a sideways glance. "Why do you look like you've seen a ghost? You should be crazy excited Jade. A guy, a specifically hot guy who is neither a goody or a snob or just gay has finally entered our boring village. Oh I am praying to all the God's out there that he comes to our school. I am so happy, do you know why? Big time drama because a bad boy is in town, Jade." I silently nod, hoping that she wouldn't notice that I was still pretty shaken up.
Cause drama always leads to distractions. And bad boys always leads to trouble.
