One Month Later

I know it sounds crazy, but I'm officially Ryan Golding's girlfriend. The best basketball player in the whole school is dating me. His curly dark brown hair, sea blue eyes, tall and muscular body, all of these features were mine- I was the only one allowed to adore them. It wasn't very easy-going to start with, the first week people gawked, a lot. Especially when Ryan would come and sit with me and Sadie for lunch and when he dropped me to school and I stopped using the bus, it was the first time people started noticing me. I hadn't ever had that much attention ever, and it was always the small things that would get me; people started actually started smiling at me in the corridor and put the extra effort in learning my name.

When I told Lucy at the bakery that I took her advice and was finally dating Ryan, she told me that she always knew I had it in me. But honestly I think she was surprised that her advice actually worked nut that doesn't stop her from proudly proclaiming herself as a certified match maker.

Sadie was in disbelief as well when Ryan and I started going out, but like any other best friend she was happy that I finally found a guy that deserved my care and attention. Plus I guess it meant she didn't have to feel so guilty when hanging out with James twenty-four-seven. Weirdly enough, even James liked Ryan because of their shared love for basketball. Ryan fitted so perfectly in my life, almost as if it was always meant to be.

I met Ryan's family after two weeks of dating and instantly fell in love with his older sister, Rosie. Ryan's dad was a wealthy man as he owned a big company, therefore I was always invited for posh family dinners, but it was everything but posh. We always had a great laugh together and I truly felt comfortable with them. Mum and George also invited Ryan and their family to ours as well and they really made an effort.

Now it has officially been a month since we've been dating, and I have to admit, I think I'm a pretty rad girlfriend.

Today Ryan was in my bedroom watching me make the hardest decision ever, a movie to watch. I'm choosing between Mean girls or the Notebook, but really it was a no-brainer which film I was going to pick in the end. Sadie and James had gone out, so it was only myself and Ryan tonight.

"Babe, whose jacket is that?" Ryan asks, pointing at the leather jacket in my wardrobe, still having the essence of peppermint since they day I got it.

"Oh it's just a friend's, I actually have to give that back." I say, it hurts my heart a little. I purposely do not mention Hunter. Ryan and a Hunter didn't see eye to eye, I would go as far as to say Ryan feels threatened by Hunter's presence. Which was ridiculous, and I have attempted to mention this several times. But Ryan's mood always seemed to be spoiled whenever I mentioned him or even talked to him, so due to this I've had to distance myself from Hunter a lot recently. I didn't feel good doing it, but if there was one thing movies have taught me it is that for a good relationship, sacrifices have to be made.

"I need to meet this friend, I never knew you had leather jacket girlfriends, I totally dig it." I punch him hard on his arm, and turn around childishly in anger. Ryan cuddles me closer whilst I protest, still looking the other way.

"I'm kidding, the only person who looks hot in a leather jacket would be you." I smile and him being cute and turn back around to kiss him.

We watch the notebook, I end up in tears as usual and Ryan ends up handing me the tissue box repeatedly, until it just stayed on his lap. Ryan leaves about 9 at the night since he has to get up early for Basketball practice tomorrow, I admired his dedication, even on the weekend he practiced for basketball. As he left, I went to take daisy- yes-the-bike - for a ride, carrying with me the leather jacket. As it was early summer it was still bright but cool at 9 in the evening. Driving around the desolated lanes, I watched the beautiful tones of blue in the sky, there was dark blue and highlights of light blue, and just light outlines of purple. Mother Nature at its best.
