I wake up from a text by Drake,

Rise and shine sleepy head, Meet me at the park, pronto. It's show time Jade!

It was 8 am, I hadn't ever woken up this early throughout the whole of summer, what was he trying to do? Kill me from lack of beauty sleep. I text him back quickly.

I never agreed to it Drake, I said I'd tell you today.

I wonder, should I agree to it, what was holding me back? If nothing I would be spending time with Hunter, whether he liked it or not. And any chance to be with Hunter should make me happy. I get a text notification and see its from Drake.

Well what are you waiting for? Are you going to fight for Hunter, or not?

I smile, typing my text in a heartbeat, scared that I'll change my mind.

Meet you in 10 mins

I jump off my bed, and get ready. I grab my phone and run downstairs, I pull my trainers on with all my might, and reach for the keys, when I see mum looking at me, with her eyebrows pinched. This was the death glare, and I knew I was in for it.

"I don't know where you think your going at eight thirty in the morning, but you can forget it. Remind me again when your curfew is?" She says, crossly.

"9:30 pm mum, but-"

"No buts, go to your room. Your grounded." I try to speak again, but mum's icy glare makes me stop myself, there was no way I was going to make her change her mind. I kick my trainers off and stomp my feet all the way upstairs. Maybe it was a sign from the world, I can't even try to get Hunter back. I belly-flop onto my bed and smother my head into my pillow, this was so unfair. I pull my phone out and tap Drake's number.

"Right this is way more than 10 minutes Jade! You have to be better at time keeping, especially if your going to be my girlfriend-" I stop him, or else he would go on forever.

"I'm not coming, because I'm grounded. Yes, I still get grounded and it's totally unfair and we can't do the plan and maybe it's a good thing because I  was feeling like it was never going to work really but, well, I've forgotten where I was going with this. "

"I can tell you, you were going nowhere with that attitude. So what? Your grounded, but I'm not. I'm coming over right now."

"Wait!-" I yell, but the line was already dead. Yet, Drake was right, I needed to stop being so scared and be confident. I needed to stop changing my mind every five seconds, I was going to do this no matter what.  After a few minutes I hear the doorbell and run downstairs, but yet again mum beats me to it. I freeze at the staircase as she gives me a weird look and opens the door.

"Hello, who are are you and what are you doing at my door? " my mum speaks in a low harsh tone, my face turns very red. How could she be this annoying.

"Hello Mrs Pond, I'm Drake, a friend of your daughter. I understand she's grounded, but is it okay if I could just talk to her for a few minutes. It's for something very important!" Drake pleads mum, but from her stiff posture I don't see that his persuasion was very moving.

"Is it school work? Or something that's going to help her academically, if not you can leave.  Like right now, I don't think anything which has nothing to do with studies, can't be discussed tommorow."

"Of course, uh- school work. I'm her tutor for maths! And it's a question she got very wrong yesterday, actually that was the reason she was late yesterday." I stifle a laugh as best as I could, Drake my maths tutor? As if mum was going to ever buy that, but just as I think that, mum seems to open the door wider.
