Emily's POV
"Hi Emily, nice to meet you." Trevor speaks over the music.
"You too." I half smile.
"I gotta show you something, Munson."
"Are you gonna be okay?" Eddie asks me.
"Yeah." He gives me a reassuring smile and follows Trevor into the sea of people.
I'm standing in this random kitchen at some party full of people I don't know, the only person I cared to be here with gone. Oh yeah and apparently we're just friends, that's great.
I walk out of the kitchen and see a couch unoccupied, I decide I'll just sit there on my phone till Eddie's ready to leave. I sit down with my drink and pull out my phone.
Not even a few moments pass before I fill the couch sink down next to me like someone's sat down. I look up and I'm met face to face, with a blonde hair blue eyed boy. He's wearing a letterman jacket, a giant H on the front.
"Hi I'm Jason!" He yells.
"Hi."
"What're you doing here all alone?" He asks.
"I came with a friend and he took off." I admit curious why I'm telling this stranger anything.
"You're too pretty to be sitting by yourself." He laughs.
"Thanks." I give him a little smile.
"What're you drinking?"
"I don't know." I say, he takes my cup. Sips it and frowns.
"That nasty shit let me get you something better." I just nod and he runs off.
Just as I'm about to go back to scrolling on my phone I hear Eddie's voice, "Where'd you're drink go?"
"Some guy took it." He looks at me puzzled, "Said it was nasty, gonna grab me something better."
"Fuck that, let's go." He grabs my hand and pulls me up and we head to the back yard. There not nearly as many people out here, a lot more quiet.
Eddie sits with a group of people who don't seem to notice us, I sit next to him. "Is this everything you imagined?" He asks.
"It actually kinda sucks ass. Not nearly as fun as i imagined, too loud." I admit, causing Eddie to laugh.
"Yeah they kinda suck. Still don't wanna go to my place?" His grins.
"I'm kinda hungry, let's get food." I say trying to keep us from going to his house so soon.
"Like a date?" He smiles even bigger.
"Perhaps." He grabs my hand and we start leave, I see Jason out of the corner of my eye with two drinks. I mouth I'm sorry and hope I never see him again.
Eddie steals one more kiss before we get into the car, I could get used to that.
While in the passenger seat I watch Eddie sing along to his favorite songs. He says this is my favorite song and then the next song comes on and he'll say the same thing over and over again, every song is his favorite. It makes me smile. He's actually not to bad at signing, I think to myself admiring him.
He turns the music off and pulls into a parking lot. It's Ann's Dinner, I remember Max telling me about this place.
We walk inside and Eddie looks uncomfortable when he see's the waitress who will be helping us tonight. "I thought you didn't work Saturdays?" He ask the waitress, she's an older women.
"I don't, I picked up a shift." She smiles leading us to a table, "Now Eddie are you gonna introduce us?" She asks.
"Oh yeah, Emily this my aunt Lizzie. Lizzie this Emily."
"Nice to meet you," I say.
"Nice to meet you too, Eddie don't bring people around too much." She admits. Eddie gives her a look that says please stop, "Here's your guys menu, I'll be back in a few."
She takes off, "Sorry I didn't know she'd be working tonight."
"It's okay."
"It's the best place in town to get a milkshake, you have to get one."
"Okay I will."
"I'm sorry you didn't have fun at the party." He apologizes.
"It's fine, I'm having fun now." I reassure, Eddie.
We take a few silent moments to look at our menus, "Do you know what you want?" He asks.
"I think I'll just get a cheese burger."
"Good choice. That's what I always get, it's the best."
"You must come here a lot." I say.
"Yeah just cause Lizzie gives me free food. Free foods the best food." He laughs.
"Damn don't wanna spend any money on me, I see how it is." I tease.
"It's not like that, I swear." He laughs.
Before I could respond Lizzie comes back, "So what can I get you two?"
"Two cheeseburgers and two milkshakes. I'll take chocolate, what do you want?"
"Strawberry please."
"Okay coming right up." She smiles again before walking off.
"Is this like your first date?" Eddie ask.
"Yes." I admit.
"Your first real kiss and your first date, damn I'm one lucky guy." He smiles, leaning back in the booth, proud of himself. Which causes me to roll my eyes and laugh.
"Yes you are." I joke. I notice out of the corner of my eye that Lizzie is in fact watching us.
"Oh I know." He looks at me for a few moments before saying he needs to use the restroom and he'll be right back.
Almost immediately Lizzie comes to sit across from me like she was waiting for the moment Eddie left, "Tell me everything."
"What?" I question, confused.
"Eddie don't tell Wayne and I anything. Are y'all dating?" She asks.
Shocked I say, "I don't know."
"That motherfucker." She furrows her brows, "Can't believe that boy."
"I'm sorry I don't know how to respond." I say so confused and uncomfortable.
"It's okay, Wayne told me Eddie was hanging out with a girl named Emily and couldn't stop talking about her. That was two weeks ago. I don't think he should keep a gorgeous girl like you waiting. Don't worry I'll set him straight." She's watching the men's restroom waiting for Eddie to come back.
"Thank you but you really don't have to do that." I say wishing she would leave so I can process everything she just said.
"I gotta go before he comes back." She swiftly stand up and pretends to be cleaning off a table as Eddie comes out the bathroom.
Eddie sits back down, "Did she bother you?"
"No."
