Sirius.

Three days after Yves was taken I managed to haul myself out of bed and have a shower but that was about as much as I planned on doing that day. I hadn't been able to eat but then again, I wasn't able to do much. I didn't bother going to class choosing instead to make use of my time pouring over the conversations I had had with Yves, the information I had gathered over the months of listening in on conversations. I knew there was something going on with Mulciber and Avery, I had known for months. And I had tried to keep an eye on them but like everything I did it was half-arsed. I knew they were plotting something but I didn't realize the magnitude of what they were planning.

It had always been the Slytherin's against just about everyone else but I didn't think it would be anything larger than some elaborate plot to get The Marauders in some kind of trouble or play some kind of prank. Dumbledore had told us to keep what we knew about what happened to ourselves as far as the school was concerned but some Aurors had interviewed us about our involvement with Yves, Avery and Mulciber. They interviewed Snape too.

Apparently satisfied that he wasn't a damn Death Eater, he escaped unscathed, but Mulciber and Avery were expelled, their fate to be decided by a Ministry enquiry. A goddamn enquiry. Then some Ministry idiot came to tell us that they didn't want to cause hysteria so the details of what happened would not be released to the public. He said that the easiest would be to obliviate us all but, after James, Remus and I nearly assaulted the inane bastard, Dumbledore refused vehemently and sent him packing.

People knew that Yves had gone missing but details about what had happened were sketchy and Dumbledore told us to keep it that way no matter what we heard. I had heard James saying that he overheard some Ravenclaw's who gossiped that between Snape and I, it was just too much for Yves and she chose to go back to Beauxbatons. Remus said that Marlene and Emmeline were spreading rumours about Yves being taken to St Mungos because she had caught some horrible, disfiguring disease. No doubt this was based more on what they wished had happened to her rather than anything they might have heard.

As for Avery and Mulciber- no one even questioned why they were expelled. They were troublemakers and everyone chalked it down to just another incident.   I had just finished dressing when James crashed through the Dorm Room door, his eyes wide, his breathing heavy. It was obvious that he had been running. My eyes fell on the paper he had clutched in his hands. He looked hesitant to give it to me but I snatched it from him.

My eyes scanned the paper and read the headline plastered larger than I'd ever seen in the paper. I sucked in breath sharply.

PROMINENT WIZARDING FAMILY KILLED IN FIRE.

The picture moved, smoke still rising from the burnt remains, people busying themselves with working the scene. It was destroyed but the house was unmistakable. It was the Fleury house.

My heart stopped beating.

Well-known Pure Blood Wizarding Family, The Fleury's, were found dead in their home in the South of France two days ago.

Authorities were alerted to the site of the grizzly scene when several muggles reported seeing a mysterious green cloud formation. Aurors were sent to the scene along with several Ministry officials. Details are scarce at this point. Spokesperson for The Department of International Wizarding Crime and Intermediation, Abigail Aberdeen, issued the following statement:
