Chapter 21

Hello readers, I have returned with a new chapter for you! I've been busy with my two jobs, and I finally got out of a reading slump and finished my book that I've been reading since July. I highly recommend reading Sarah J Mass books -

 *** please keep in mind that 2/3 of her series are ADULT FANTASY and contain ADULT CONTENT - so if you're under 18, I wouldn't read them or ask your parents first. *** Her Young Adult series Throne of Glass is great too - although there is some explicit content in one of the books further in the series - it is not as directly descriptive - but again if you're under 18 I would recommend talking to your parents before reading these series. 

But they are honestly some of the best Fantasy books I've read in a long time! 

I wasn't 100% sure on what I wanted to do with this chapter - so if it isn't as good - I apologize.

The principal was standing in the kindergarten room at Hailey's school with the substitute teacher, Hiccup, Astrid, and multiple police men. 

Hiccup was furious and scared. Astrid could see it all over his face while he talked to a couple of the officers about what Hailey looked like, what she was wearing, who her mother was, with a description of her as well. 

Ella started whining in her car-seat and Astrid unbuckled her and took her out, holding her. Astrid walked over to where Hiccup was. Hiccup looked at her and smiled a little, but it faded quickly as Hiccup turned back to the officer as the officer explained they sent out an Amber Alert to Berk and surrounding cities and areas. 

"Any reason she would take her to another city?" one of the officers asked. 

"Not that I can think of. But she's unpredictable so I would check them and highways as well." Hiccup told them. The officer looked to Astrid. 

"Are you related to Hailey?" The officer asked. Astrid looked at Hiccup. 

"We're together, she lives with us and this is our daughter Ella. We aren't married yet but she's more of a mom to Hailey then Cami ever was." Hiccup explained to the officer. Astrid held Hiccup's hand while Ella sat on her hip playing with Astrid's zipper on her jacket. 

The officer nodded. "We're going to do everything we can to get her back, since she's just a child, it's a priority."

Cami was still driving on the highway, it had been a little over an hour now. Hailey was just staring out her window, holding her dragon against her. Cami saw the sign for a stop on the highway and it was the one she wanted to go too. 

Cami was meeting with someone. She drove up to the stop and found a parking spot. She grabbed her phone texting someone. She saw that she had tons of text messages and missed phone calls from Hiccup. She didn't bother looking at them or listening to them. 

"What are we doing?" Hailey asked. 

"Waiting for someone." Cami told her. 

"Who?" Hailey asked.

"Just a guy." Cami said. Hailey sighed and saw the building. 

"I need to go to the bathroom, and I'm hungry." Hailey told Cami. Cami sighed and rolled her eyes. She sent another text and then got out of the car and went and unbuckled her. 

"We're going to be fast." Cami told her. Hailey nodded and climbed out of the car. Cami took her hand and they walked into the building together. Cami brought her to the bathrooms and Hailey let go of her hand. 

"I can go by myself." Hailey told her. Cami sighed. 

"Okay." Cami said and stood by the wall looking at her phone. 

Hailey locked herself in the stall. After she was done she came out and washed her hands. Her and Cami walked back out into the main area and Cami got in line to get food for Hailey. Hailey stayed a couple feet away from Cami and was looking around to see if she could find someone to tell what happened. 

They got up to the counter and Hailey saw a female cop in the line beside them. Hailey slowly moved closer to the officer. Cami was still ordering food and paying. 

The officer noticed Hailey inching over to her. Hailey looked at her and mouthed the words. 'Help me.' Hailey looked back to Cami and Cami looked over and walked over grabbing Hailey's arm. The officer saw Cami walk over and grab Hailey's arm and saw Hailey flinch a little and her little face turn to fear. 

"You need to stay close by." She said firmly. Cami half pulled her back over while she waited for their food. The officer grabbed her own stuff and headed outside to her car. She saw Cami pulling Hailey along. 

"You're hurting me!" Hailey yelled at Cami. 

"Don't yell at me, you brat! Get in the car." Cami told her. Hailey climbed into her seat and Cami buckled her in, and gave Hailey her food. Cami shut the door and looked around and saw the person she was waiting for. The man started walking over to her car.

The officer kept watching as she saw this man approach Cami's car, when her radio went off. 

"Anyone have eyes on a five-year-old girl. Brown hair, blue eyes. She's wearing a pink t-shirt with blue jeans, running shoes, has a pink coat. Goes by the name Hailey Haddock. Was taken from Berk Elementary School this afternoon. Suspect is named Camille Bog, blonde hair, blue eyes, about 5'7 in height, is the birth mother with no custody rights to the child. Thought to be travelling North on the Berk freeway toward Berserk City. Check all stops along the freeway. 

Vehicle should be a grey Mazda, four door, with a license plate B2E5S89.  If anyone has eyes on the vehicle or the child, please report back."

The officer looked back over at where Cami had been standing with this man and saw them getting into the car. The officer started her vehicle as well and slowly moved forward as Cami did. The officer noticed the license plate matched and got on the radio. 

"I have eyes on the vehicle and the girl, a man just entered the vehicle as well. They're heading back on the freeway from the Outcast stop going North to Berserk City. Following." The officer reported back.

Hiccup heard a female voice over the cops radio that they were talking too. He heard the cop say he had eyes on Cami's vehicle and Hailey and where they were going. 

"That's almost 2 hours from here." Hiccup explained. 

"They're sending other cops right now." The officer told Hiccup. 

"I'll go get her myself. She's going to want me. She's probably terrified." Hiccup said to them. 

"Mr. Haddock, we understand that you want your daughter back. But we have to let our people get her. It's safer that way. You're welcome to come to the station and wait there." The officer explained to him. 

Hiccup looked at Astrid. "Come with me to the station. Please." He said to her. Astrid nodded. 

"See if your mom can take Ella and we'll go." she told him.

Cami pulled back out onto the freeway and noticed the cop car right away that was behind her, but keeping it's distance. She didn't push the speed limit, thinking the cop would eventually just pass her. 

"Who are you?" Hailey blurted from the back seat to the man now sitting in the front. 

"His name is Sean, Hailey. He's just a friend of mine, and he's going to stay with us." Cami explained to her. Hailey just nodded and looked out the window again. 

Hailey thought about the police officer she saw in the building. But she had watched the officer go outside and thought that maybe the officer thought Cami was really supposed to be her mom. She sighed. 

"Can we call daddy?" Hailey asked. Cami let out an annoyed sigh. 

"No. Now stop talking." Cami told her. 

Hailey pouted and glared at Cami from her seat. 

Cami noticed the cop was still behind her, even after a while. She turned the radio on and the news was playing. 

"There is an AMBER ALERT out for a five-year-old girl, said to be kidnapped from her elementary school in Berk this afternoon. The girl is named Hailey Haddock, she is wearing pink t-shirt, blue jeans, running shoes, and a pink coat. She has brown hair and blue eyes and is said to be with her birth mother Camille Bog. Description: Blonde hair, blue eyes, 5'7 in height. We've been told that they are heading North to Berserk City and was recently spotted at the Outcast stop on the freeway. Vehicle make is a grey Mazda, four door car with the license plate of B2E5S89. 

If anyone has any whereabouts on the child or vehicle we ask that you dial 9-1-1 or call the Berk City police department with any information." The radio blared. 

Sean looked at Cami. 

"They know you kidnapped her, that's probably why a cop is following you." Sean said to her. 

"Shut up. I'm not going to make myself suspicious." Cami said. 

"What's an Amber Alert? Why were they saying my name and yours and what we look like?" Hailey asked. 

"Hailey, shut your mouth. Just do as your told, and nothing bad will happen." Cami told her. "We're almost there." 

Almost to Berserk City. Cami was bringing Hailey somewhere, hopefully nobody would find them. Sean had help her set up a location under his security and they were headed directly for this place. Once they were inside, Hailey wouldn't be able to get out. Which was exactly what Cami wanted.

I wrote a lot more than I thought I would. So hopefully it was decent and you guys enjoyed it! 

Update as soon as I can, but I have a busy weekend coming up visiting my friend and going to a concert!!
