Jaemin tossed and turned in bed. He had really gone out of the comfort of his room to the abandoned library to figure out if he could learn anything useful but somehow, deep down, he felt as though he was purposefully walking into some type of trap.

Jaehyun had told him on more than one occasion that the beliefs given to them by their parents weren't accurate and though Jaemin couldn't believe it, mayhaps there was some truth to whatever Jaehyun said. Everyone was born and raised to believe in a certain way and most were taught that whatever someone else believed in, was pure shit and nowhere near correct.

It was the same in so many religions. Christians believed that the way other religions thought was wrong, the other religions believed the Christians were wrong, those who didn't have a religion thought that everyone else was wrong. It didn't necessarily mean that everyone in the same religion thought the same but it just meant that in every religion, there was someone that hated the other people for who they were and what they put their faith and energy into.

As they said. To find yourself, you must think for yourself.

Because truth would always prevail.

For this reason, Jaemin could feel the tightly sealed screws in his head loosen just a smidge. As if someone had sprayed liquid wrench in his brain and was trying to pry off the cover. A similar sensation to what he suspected a Russian Doll would go through before exposing a new doll right underneath. He should've really let that doll out, allow it to accept his conditions and to get him used to his surroundings. Jeno had been around at completely random times during some days, ready to help him and yet he didn't change.

On the other side of the room, Mark slept peacefully, a smile adorning his face in his sleep. Whatever was making him so happy, Jaemin wanted that too. He wanted to be so content in a place filled with such evil creations. So content that even with his troubles going on, he still found time, even if it was in sleep, to take a while and smile.

Alas, he was stuck in there but hey, at least they were teaching him exactly what he needed to become something great in life. In his case, a surgeon. It was always known that everyone that left wound up being the greatest of their generation but Jaemin had come to a conclusion that it was up to them to figure out why. It was possibly the reason why the students that had been there the year before weren't seen often. There was a chance that one of the goals for that year was for them to discover how that was to be accomplished.

Slowly, Jaemin drifted into sleep, pleasant dreams taking over him as the worries of accepting other beliefs melted away. The weather that night was chilly, allowing Jaemin to easily rest peacefully but sometime during the early hours of the morning, he was startled awake for apparently no reason.

He looked around, thinking his mind had woken him for no reason and was about to shrug it off and head back to sleep but somehow, his eyes drifted to the side and he froze in complete horror as he saw a figure towering over him from the side of his bed.

The window was open and to make it worse, his room was on the ground floor. He swore he was about to get a stroke but before he passed out like a complete wimp, he'd emit his final battle cry.

Inhaling quickly and shallowly to scream, his breath suddenly caught the moment a hand clamped over his mouth.

"Wait! Don't scream!" The person whisper-yelled. "I swear I'm not an intruder nor a murderer nor a thief! Okay, maybe I am an intruder but whatev- Fucking son of bitch! Why the ever loving fuck did you bite me?!"

Jaemin froze. Oh hell no. This intruder wasn't a Christian. He swore like a bloody trucker.

"Who are you?" Jaemin asked in pure fear, pulling his head away just a little. "What're you doing here?"

"Huang Renjun? Know that little bitch? He's my baby brother. I'm Kunhang"

Jaemin felt his insides shiver a little bit and he slowly nodded. Of course he'd admit that he knew Renjun. Anything to get this person out.

"Yeah. Other side of the building. Please go out the way you came and stay away," Jaemin nearly begged.

"Can I just stay with you until morning?" Kunhang begged, seating himself on Jaemin's bed.

"No. Your brother'll probably be worried."

"Ren? Last person that'll worry," Kunhang laughed. "He doesn't even know I'm here."

Oh.

Oh damn. An actual criminal on his bed. Jaemin didn't know what to do. He really just wanted to take him out, whether it was in the polite way or not. So that's what he did, but doing that would be easy, right?

Right?

RIGHT?

Wrong.

Because Na Jaemin thought it would be an easy task to simply do that but as he summoned his courage to ask him to leave, his leg seemed to have a mind of its own and before any of them realized, his limb was swinging directly at Kunhang's head.

"WHAT THE FU-"

But the intruder never got to finish his sentence because he was lying on the floor knocked out.

Jaemin sprung up in fear, bile rising into his throat as he realized what he had done, the fourth chapter of Ephesians flashed in his head almost as if were silently scolding him for hurting someone.

The confusing colours and the overwhelming guilt flooded through him. It was a type of pain that he couldn't even feel but the said pain had such a big effect that he found himself fainting and before he could hold himself, Jaemin was hanging out of his bed with only his legs propped up and Kunhang lying cold on the ground.

Who knows how long they'd stay there.
