Chapter Eighteen: Adjust

~(Y/n)'s POV~

After your lovely chat with Navi-Sama, you'd awoken to your alarm going off. With a groan, you flopped to the side, whacking the clock and shutting off the blaring sound. You'd actually overslept a bit, and you sleepily sat up, rubbing your eyes. As you clambered out of bed, you grabbed your phone to check for notifications, finding none. That meant your day was mostly free, unless something popped up.

You continued with your morning routine, making breakfast and then finding a spot to chill on the couch to watch the news. It was nice to have a bit of a reprieve from the chaos of the day before. Navi-Sama had talked for quite a while in the Dream Void, and you know had knowledge about the Gods of Destruction, Gods of Creation, Angels, and a few other things that still made your brain hurt to think about. You set your empty plate down on the coffee table after finishing your breakfast, and flipped through the channels looking for something good to fill with white noise while you lazed about.
"Hey, go back one! That's a good show!"

You jumped with a startled yelp, whipping around and chucking the remote at the intruder in your home. The remote slapped into the face of none other than King Kai, and you watched tensely as it fell to the floor with a clatter, the red spot on the blue man's face a testament to how hard you'd thrown it. He spoke up a few moments after, rubbing the sore spot gently.
"... I didn't remotely see that coming," You blinked at him before a small smile crept onto your lips.

"My god, that was awful!" You laughed as you got to your feet, walking over to King Kai. You picked up the remote and glanced at the mark that was slowly fading off his face.
"Sorry about that. I'd say you shouldn't have snuck up on me, but I think it's a bit of a mute point," you grinned as you muted the tv, setting the remote off to the side. It took a few, but King Kai realized what you had said and had promptly fallen into a fit of laughter. It didn't take you too long to join in with him, the two of you cackling in your living room like a pair of maniacs.

Your lungs begged for air as your laughs devolved into chuckles, wiping away a stray tear while you calmed down.
"Ok, ok ok..." King Kai snorted as he too came off his high, and you straightened back up.
"So, why have you stopped by my humble abode?" You questioned him, leaning against the back of the couch. He clasped his hands behind his back, fixing you with a grin.

"Well, I was stopping by to see if you'd like some more training. Most of my old students don't need my training anymore, and since you've been on a bit of a break, I thought I could offer my services." Your eyebrows shot up a little, but you nodded.
"That sounds great!" You'd been meaning to get some more training from Navi-Sama, but she looked like she could use some rest for a bit. This was also a good opportunity to learn some different moves from King Kai.

He grinned widely.
"Great! We can leave whenever you're ready." You gave him a small nod, and made for your room to change clothes.
"Treat yourself to whatever's in the fridge if you'd like!" you said over your shoulder as you closed the door to your bedroom. Changing into a pair of sweats and a tank top didn't take you long, so you shot a quick text to the gang to let them know you probably wouldn't be at home for a bit.

When you got back to the living room, King Kai had a cup of yogurt in his hands and was watching a wrestling match on the tv. He turned as you entered, and you gave him a thumbs up.
"Ready when you are!" He nodded, finishing off the food and shutting off the tv.
"I will warn you, my home's gravity is ten times stronger than Earth's, so be prepared for the weight difference."

You raised a brow, a slightly impressed look on your face. That was pretty cool, and you were never one to back away from a challenge.
"Duly noted." King Kai placed a hand on your arm, and suddenly you were weightless. It was much like how the Dream Void felt, but without the feeling of safety it usually provided.
