Chaper Nineteen: Changes

~(Y/n)'s POV~

After chasing Dutchess all night, it was safe to say you were exhausted when King Kai woke you for breakfast and the next day. Granted, his wonderful cooking had replenished some of your energy. However, all good things had to come to an end, and now you were chasing after Bubbles again. You were getting closer to catching the cheeky monkey, which made you proud that it had only taken you about two days to do so, but you still had a little bit to go before you could accomplish that task.
"God this is so boring to watch!"

You rubbed some dirt off your face as you stood back up, fixing Gregory with a glare. You wanted to strangle the cricket spirit so badly.
"Oi. Stay out of it, buggy." You huffed at him before staring off after Bubbles again. He got onto your nerves every time he spoke, and it made your task all the more frustrating. Sooner than you expected, it was lunch time, and you were sitting at the table with the three inhabitants of the small planet.

You and King Kai had been exchanging puns whilst eating, and you were having a hard time trying not to choke on your food as you laughed.
"And then I said,'It's rice to meet you!'" You watched with glee as the Kai toppled out of his chair in laughter as you took a bite of your rice ball.
"Ohohohoho! That's good!" He guffawed from the floor. You grinned victoriously.

It was nice to have someone to share horrible puns with who didn't groan in disappointment at each one. A loud ringing interrupted your lunch, and you pulled out your phone. It was a text from your favorite blue haired inventor.

Bulma: (Y/n)! Where are you?
(Y/n): Eating lunch with a friend. What's up B?
Bulma is typing...

You watched the little dots do a little wave as she typed, and took a large bite of a rice ball as you waited for her response.

Bulma: I hate to ruin your lunch, but I have a favor to ask you
(Y/n): Hey no worries! I'd be glad to help out my favorite inventor. What's the favor?
Bulma: Well, I've been spending all morning trying to fix the Gravity Chamber, so I haven't had the time to show Nappa around and help him get adjusted to things here on Earth. I love Vegeta, but...
(Y/n): Hahaha! No need to say more, B! I'd be down to give the big guy a tour of West City
Bulma: (Y/n). Babe. You are a LIFESAVER!
(Y/n): what time should I stop by?
Bulma: Whenever you're done with lunch is fine. Thanks again!

You grinned as you shoved your phone away, finishing off another rice ball.
"Well, I'd love to stick around and train more, but I've been summoned back home to help out," you hummed as King Kai got back to his feet.
"Do you think you could give me a ride back home?" You asked the blue man. He nodded.
"Of course! We can go whenever!"

You nodded, and started to slide off the weights.
"Now's good." You weren't in any particular rush, but you'd like to get a quick shower before heading over to Capsule Corp.
"If you could, tell Navi-Sama that I'd be down to finish the rest of my training in the Dream Void if I can't make it back here," you said as he placed a hand on your arm.
"Good. Wouldn't want you to skip training," he said.

You have Bubbles and Gregory a wave as the two of you blipped away, the familiar feeling of weightlessness making your gut flip briefly before you were standing in your living room again. You turned to the Kai, giving him a slight bow.
"Thanks for training me! I had a blast!" He grinned at you.
"It's nice to have someone to train again! I'll see you again later so we can get back to it!"

You nodded with a smile.
"Yeah. I'm sure it'll be worth the weight." King Kai let out one last laugh before he poofed away. You gave your arms a stretch as you started towards your bathroom. After a quick shower, you'd head over to Capsule Corp.
