The rest of their days in Jeju went smoother as the friends focused more on group activities. As they used to do back when they were younger - they shared more time together. They went around the island altogether, ate their most favorite local foods, and enjoyed the beach as a group the whole time.
Jin and Taehyung were very happy this way-- it's like building their foundation once again with the people that are closest to them both. And it's just how their relationship blossomed in the first place. Without their friends, their love for each other wouldn't be as deep as it is now.
Then came the day of their return to Seoul - and Taehyung did not waste time. As he promised Jin, he called Jimin to meet with him and clear things out regarding their engagement.

"Hello, Taehyung-ssi! Wow, you've tanned a bit! It suits you though." Jimin said as he greeted Taehyung with a hug.
Taehyung smiled at him then pulled the chair for him to sit on as he said, "Thank you. It was difficult not to enjoy the sun in Jeju."
"Good for you. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself there. I can't wait to hear your stories."
Taehyung cleared his throat, but remained silent as he placed their orders with the waiter. Jimin noticed a bit of awkwardness at Taehyung's expression, hence, he felt a bit anxious about it. But he remained quiet as well.
When the waiter left, Jimin thought of lightening up the atmosphere, so he asked, "How did you find your Jeju trip - was it a lot of fun with your high school friends?"
"Ah, yes. Yeah, it was. We used to be very close - all of us. So it was very refreshing to do things with them again." Taehyung smiled slightly. "How about you? Have you been busy while I was away?"
"Yes, a bit. Dad wanted me to finalize everything for your welcoming party slash our engagement party, but I told him that it's better that I wait for you. Your preferences are important to me."
"Oh, okay. Thank you for being so considerate of me. But uhm, about our engagement--"
"You know what, maybe we should have a glass of champagne first." Jimin signaled for the waiter to pour their glasses with champagne, while Taehyung was becoming more and more keen to start the conversation that he's been wanting to bring up. But he waited for the best time to go about it.
After their relaxed dinner, Jimin raised his glass to clink with Taehyung. The latter did as expected, which made Jimin smile.
"That was a lovely dinner, thank you. Okay, Taehyung-ssi.. you may say what you wanted to say."
Taehyung's mouth went a bit agape, then he gulped as he stared back at his fiancé. He stuttered, "W-what--"
"I can feel that you want to say something important. Would that involve calling off our engagement?!" Jimin asked, his lips were pressed together, holding back a breath as he anticipated for Taehyung's response.
"Jimin, I- I'm sorry, but yes. I wish to call of our engagement. I'm really sorry."
Jimin nodded slowly and kept his gaze down at the table. He said, "I had a hunch when your parents asked me why I allowed you to go on that trip. They said one of your high school friends was the love of your life-- is the love of your life, still.. I guess. Is it Atty. Kim Seokjin?!"
"Yes. Yes, he is. And we have gotten back together. I'm really sorry, Jimin. I didn't mean for us to end this way. I just--"
"I understand. Don't worry, Taehyung-ssi. No hard feelings.. I saw how you two stole glances from each other during the reunion party. I felt it right then. It seems to me that you two have a deep history together that I don't have a chance of overcoming. Therefore, there's no use of me fighting against it."
