-ZACH'S POV-

This girl was absolutely incredible. I knew that Nick was fine about her coming with us, but why didn't Aaron say anything? He never likes to spontaneously bring people in. But I'm not too worried. I have a beautiful girl going on an investigation with me. A girl that seems to brighten my smile whenever I see her beautiful green eyes. I barely know her, but I feel like she's the one. I'm probably just overreacting, but who cares? I've never been happier! As we're walking back to the board shop to pack up our stuff I look over to Kat and notice something wrong.

"Hey, what's on your mind?" I ask.

"Have you ever been terrified to tell someone you love the truth?" Kat asks looking into my eyes.

"I remember in Highschool I had to tell my mom about bullies that had beaten me up everyday. But that may not be what you're talking about," I say soothingly.

"I have to tell Shelly something that might be really important, but I'm afraid she'll hate me for it," Kat says sadly.

"Who could hate you?" I say jokingly. She looks up at me and smiles. My heart melts from her radiance. I smile back.

"Now a question for you " I say.

"Shoot," she says.

"What are you afraid of?" This stops her in her tracks.

"I-I'm not quite sure. I think I'm afraid of going insane," she says calmly, "what about you?"

"Clowns, and dolls. God I hate those things," I say shivering. She begins to giggle and I can't help laughing along with her. I hardly even noticed that we made it to the shop until Nick coughs to get my attention.

"Well, we're ready to go," he says.

"What hotel are you guys staying at?" Kat asks.

"Oh, we're just gonna crash in our van for the night," Aaron assures.

"Absolutely not, you're staying at my house and that's final. No ifs ands or buts about it," Kat orders.

"I don't know, we're fine in the van," I assure.

"Nope, I'm texting Shelly right now and telling her to get out the mats, we're having a sleepover!" She says excitedly.

-AARON'S POV-

I want to retort, but then again I kind of want to see Shelly again. I'm not saying I have a crush on her, but it would be nice to get to know her a little bit more. And I'm sick of having to sleep on that uncomfortable couch o e more night.

"Alright, we'll stay at your place," I sigh. Nick and Zach both look at me in astonishment and I just shrug at them. I know I won't get any crap from Zach, he'll be too busy flirting it up with Kat, but I know that Nick will have a few questions.

"I'll go get our stuff I guess," Nick says dumbfounded.

"Here, I'll come help you," Zach says trailing behind Nick. Good, now I can talk to Kat for a little bit.

"Hey Kat-"

"You want me to hook you up with Shell, don't you?" She says nonchalantly.

"How did you know?" I ask curiously.

"Let's just call it a 'woman's intuition'. But on one condition," she says.

"What is it?" I ask blankly.

"I need you to tell me if Zach likes me," she says blushing. I couldn't help but laugh at this.

"What? What's so funny?" Kat demands.

"He likes you for sure, don't worry about that," I laugh, "he's just been wondering the same thing." I hear Kat heave a sigh.

"I was so scared that he wouldn't like me," she giggled.

"Why wouldn't he like you?" I ask honestly confused. Kat gestures to her leg.

"I'm not sure if he's into missing limbs," she jokes.

"Don't worry, Zach isn't shallow. He'll like you for you, not if you have all your limbs," I reassure. We hear Nick and Zach getting close to us and try to act natural.

"You ready to go?" Zach asks me.

"Yeah, I'm good to go," I say. And then we're following Kat a few blocks, Zach strolling up front with Kat while me and Nick follow.

"Zach is so in love with her," Nick says rolling his eyes.

"Guess who else is in love?" I say trying I drop the hint about Kat.

"Is she really?" Nick asks shocked.

"Oh yeah, we were talking about it when you guys were at the van," I say leaving out the part about me liking Shelly.

"Well, they do make a cute couple," Nick says gesturing to them. They're both laughing and pushing each other. I've never seen Zach so happy before. Ever since his grandma died he's been really depressed. Sometimes I would catch him crying when he didn't think anyone was around. It was heartbreaking to see him like that. I think Kat might be a good thing for him.

"Here we are," Kat says proudly gesturing to a small shack like house. It looked so cozy. I could see Shell sitting by the window and my heart seemed I skip a beat. She's so beautiful. Kat opened the door and we all filed in. When I was about to walk through the door Kat caught my arm.

"Is it okay if we not tell Zach about what we talked about?" She asks nervously.

"Sure, but can I tell Nick?" I ask. She nods her head yes. I walk into her house and it's amazing. The walls are painted an ocean blue with pictures of people and nature and some artwork. The floor is this sand colored carpet that makes you feel like you're actually at the beach. The far wall is entirely black and I get confused.

"What's up with that wall?" I ask pointing to it.

"Oh, that's our chalkboard wall, me and Kat love to draw," Shelly answers blankly.

"That's so cool!" Zach exclaims. I can't help but chuckle to myself. Zach notices.

"What's so funny?" He asks.

"Nothing, just something I remembered," I lied. He was madly in love, and it was ridiculous.
