                                                    12. The Enemy Of My Enemy...

"Thank you so much for the date, I really had a great time." I said as Derek and I were making our way up the steps to my house.

"Me too. We should do this again sometime." He said as we stopped at the door. I smiled at him which he returned with a grin.

"Definitely." I said. I saw him smile and then he leaned in. Oh God, am I ready for this?

Derek leaned closer whilst I was just frozen. I was having an argument with myself.

Should I let him kiss me? Do I want him to? And why am I asking myself? It's not like I'm Google. I mean, seriously that thing is a genius. Just type something in and then BAM! You got it what you want. Why can't my mind be like Google? Stupid, unfair mind-

Before I had time to think of anything else, Derek's lips were on mine. His lips were rough and he was putting too much force into the kiss. Seriously, if he hadn't wrapped his arms around my torso, I probably would have fallen backwards.

He broke the kiss and we were both panting. He looked like a guy who stole someone's girlfriend on purpose. This is not good.

I shivered and straightened myself. "Thank you for this evening, again."

"My pleasure. I'll call you for our next date." He said before kissing my cheek and then trotting down the stairs and rode off in his car.

I sighed as I opened the door, hoping  Sebastian wasn't around; I seriously could not face him right now. I feel...ashamed of myself, like I'm cheating on him. God, why does everything have to be so complicated?! I thought, exasperatingly.

"Angelina, is that you?" Scott's voice called from the living room.

"Yeah." I replied back as I started taking my shoes off.

"A guy came today and he wanted to speak to you, but seeing as you weren't here, he just left something for you." He told me. I narrowed my eyes and frowned.

Who would do that?

"Did he give his name?" I said as I made my way into the living room.

"Erm...Yeah, but I can't remember. Something along the lines of Riley or was it Ricky?" He asked himself as he stared into space. He was sat on the couch, watching TV. He was clothed in a casual shirt and jeans.

"I don't know anyone called-"

"RICHARD! His name was Richard! Yes, I'm so smart." He cut me off and exclaimed happily. I laughed and shook my head when he patted himself on the back.

Richard? I don't know a Richard. I scanned my brain as I tried to think of a face to put to the name. I came up blank. Richard, Richard...Why does that sound familiar?

There's only one Richard I know and that's one of Marcus' guys. It can't be. Surely, they haven't found me.

"Are you OK? You look a bit pale." Scott said worryingly.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I answered too quickly. "What did he leave?"

"That." Scott said and pointed to a letter that was on the table. I walked over there and picked it up. Nothing was written on the outside but I felt that it wasn't empty.

This isn't a safe place to open it. I thought and then tucked it onto my pocket.

"Well, I'm just gonna go and take a shower." I said awkwardly, walking backwards towards the stairs.

"OK." Was all that Scott said. I turned and walked up the stairs slowly, acting as if nothing was wrong. As soon as I got into my room I dragged the letter out and ripped it open. I took the letter out and read the inside,

Angelina,

I just want you to know that I've got my eye on you. Be careful. Keep a look out for Marcus, he's been looking for you. He's been sending people all around the country, searching for you. I'm glad I found you before one of his men did.

I know you may be a little shocked but I'm only here to protect you. You must take care of yourself and not let Marcus or his men find you.

If you ever need to call me, here's my number.

Good luck.

-Richard.

What is going on?

Can I trust him?

Do I have any other option?

I'm so confused right now. Maybe this is all a trap. Maybe Richard is just trying to make me gain his trust and then he can lure me out to Marcus.

If he wanted to do that though, he probably would have took you away already. My subconscious implied. True...

Ugh, why is this so hard! I just want to forget about Marcus.

I re-read Richar's letter and decided I really need to stay on the down low.

Right, that means, quitting my modeling job. Next thing tomorrow, I am calling Natalie and telling her the news. But I still need money. I can't pay for this place without money.

Better start job hunting then...

I put Richard's number in my phone before ripping the letter up and throwing it away.

I guess Richard was just undercover when he was with Marcus. He and Marcus never got on well. I would always hear them arguing, over nothing.

Richard is my only hope to try to and mess up any form of trail leading Marcus to me.

Richard is the enemy of my enemy.
