So, I've just been having a chat with one of my friends who a few of you know as NopeNopeNope. We've been talking about this amazing movie called 'The Hunger Games'. Now I did something unthinkable! I watched he movie before I read the book! I know, I know, shoot me now but I did. I thought it was brilliant anyway.
So the other day I went to the library in search of a new novel to lose myself in and NopeNopeNope recommended that I read 'The Hunger Games' after it became apparent that I'd read half the books in the library. At first I was a bit reluctant because I knew my imagination was ruined because I had already seen the movie. Anyway, I got it in the end.
Today I read it and then sat and watched the movie... Six times. Do you wanna know something? I've changed my mind, the movie is shit... in a way. Don't get me wrong, the effects are amazing but the storyline, fucking hell it's infuriating!! WTF DID THEY DO TO THE STORYLINE!!
GOD I'M PISSED OFF!!
WHY CAN'T PRODUCERS READ THE BOOK PROPERLY WHEN THEY COME UP WITH THE SCRIPT!!!
READ IT PROPERLY!!! PROPERLY!!!
The book was amazing and the movie killed it to be truthful. There are so many things that the movie changed and it makes me so upset. Why couldn't they just have followed the book, it would have been better! So so so much better.
I can't be bothered to mention all of the things that fucked me off that they had changed but I'll tell you one!
The last part of the games!
If you've both read and watched it you'll know the part I mean straight away. It's the part with those wolf like muttations where Katniss notices that all of them have the eyes, body types and abilities of the 21 other contestants that have been killed. WTF happened to that?! Seriously?! I loved that part of the book it was so, so clever. A beautiful way to bring the hunger games to an end. The way that everyone of them got back at Cato for making the game all the more torturous... I loved it.
So why? Why could they not follow it?
Anyway, I'm going to shut up and go shoot some people ;P xx
