Soaked underneath the rain stood two figures, one stood was a female with (hair color) locks and (eye color) iris, right next to her was a man with white locks and gray iris sitting, kneeling on the ground.
"Stand up Abel."
The (hair color) haired woman spoke to the man right beside her
"You're the Duke now. You can't just.. Breakdown."
You spoke as you kneel down right beside
"But I guess today would be fine."
You spoke once again, taking a hold of his shaking shoulder
His cries were buried by the sound of the rain.
As she shield him away from the sorrow of the rain, the two figures remain under the rain with nothing but comforting silence, having her presence was enough, just like what he had done when she was the one in his place.
"I will make them pay."
He cried, holding on into you as he suddenly look forward
His gray iris was burning with vengeance.
"Right."
You agree
"When the right time comes we'll make them pay."
You spoke squeezing his hand
Both of you knew his father passing was nothing but a making of the crown. But now is not the right time to act. The north was still facing difficulties, demons are still acting up on the walls, the casualties were high, and the land still was facing difficulties in agriculture because of the climate of this land.
Both of you knew now is not the right time to act. That you would have to wait for the chance to act.
"For now, let's make this land better. What do you think?"
You tap his wet shoulder and that made him look at you
"Let's do that."
"Let's get inside."
You spoke, standing up leaving him to do it on his own
Putting up a good distance between the two of you.
It was now or never.
"Hey Abel."
You turn around to face him with a smirk on your face.
"I love you."
You watch him stop on his step as he looks at you with some sort of complicated glaze.
Either way, you'll know what would be his answer anyway.
In this way, this topic will not be bought upon in the future nor get in the way of you too again.
As your (eye color) iris met with a pair of gray ones.
You watch him let out a sigh in the middle of the rain, brushing back his white locks.
"I don't love you."
He spoke loud and clear in the middle of the deafening rain.
"No."
He chuckle
"I can't love you, I shouldn't love you, therefore, I will not love you."
He spoke and afterwards, there was a genuine smile on his lips
"Good."
You spoke in return, tears unnoticed in the rain
But he did notice.
"It has to be that way."
You smile at him before you turn around without no regrets.
Right, it has to be that way.
In that way, you would be able to move on.
In that way, you'll both be able to move on.
In that way, you'll be able to let go of each other with no regrets, maybe just a little bit.
To Fiona who get to see the way the woman with (hair color) locks walk a way with her hands on her mouth, obviously trying to hold back her cries as she hold on into her chest with her free hand as she seems to be trying to calm herself before she went in side the Castle leaving behind the white haired man.
His hands clenching on his sides as he watch the only woman he would ever love walk away from him. He didn't dare chase after her. That is how things were supposed to be. So biting his lower lips as his heart pound heavily and painfully on his chest, he look away.
To her who was watching in the distance witnessing it all. Her heart was aching on her chest. Because for the first time in her life, she get to see the most broken expression her father could make.
Just what kind of expression does he even have when she died? She doesn't want to imagine. That would be so heartbreaking.
