It's been awhile

"I heard your Mother was very furious."

"Well it was a good marriage proposal."

You shrug

"I suppose you're right, it was another ducal family after all."

He spoke as both of you walk through the garden of the Castle

"Why."

He end up clearing his throat as you smile lightly in return

"Why did you change your mind? I heard you were up for the engagement until you return from the walls."

"Well something came up, made me realize somethings I haven't done."

"Which is?"

"The issue on the walls is yet to be solve, you can't be in there all the time."

You spoke with a shrug

"Until the issue among the territory is yet to be solve, I'll protect the walls."

"Heh? Speaking like a powerful mage aren't we?"

He chuckle, messing with your hair causing you to roll your (eye color) iris at him

"I am, a powerful mage."

You spoke, slapping his hand away from your head

"Something weird though."

"What?"

You spoke, walking a head of him as you look around the garden

It was not the same as it was before, well you could only guess they did do a few changes in the area, it has been years after all.

"Are obedient unlike always."

He said with a chuckle, catching up with you

"Isn't that a good thing?"

You roll your eyes at him

Suddenly the snow started falling and unconsciously, you place a thermal magic to both of you just like how you always did.

"Is that your thing?"

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

You frown at him, not even bothering to look at him as you admire the flowers in the garden

You have always wonder how such flower could survive in the cold without a drop of magic.

"The thermal magic."

"So you knew."

"Why do you think you came to this castle in the first place?"

He scoff, following you around

Every servant in the castle which happened to passed by the garden just look away at the scene of their Lord along side Lady (First name) wondering around the garden like they have always did in their childhood to teenage years.

"Oh, so I was right to you were the one to snitch on me into knowing magic."

You spoke, turning around to look at him

"You're actually sensitive when it comes to magic aren't you?"

You smirk at him before once again looking forward

Then you stop upon spotting a familiar spot from afar.

"Speaking of the past, I thought nothing would be the same as it was but I guess that spot hasn't change."

Referring at the spot where the two of you have first met.

There was no reply coming from him that made you glance at your side where he was currently stating at, only to see him looking at the spot with such eyes, you can't help but to look away.

"Abel, you know I still love you right?"

You felt the sudden turn of glaze upon your way

"Just kidding, of course."

You spoke as you turn around to meet his glaze only to find him once again looking ahead of him

Funny punk.

Stop looking at me that way will you?

"Abel, I plan to guard the walls for the next decade."

"Why are you so obsessed with the walls?"

"Because no one other than us can protect the people in here."

You spoke, picking up a piece of flower

"It will take you at least a few more years before you stabilize the North right?"

"At least three more years until we can solely focus on the demon and walls."

"Well it's nothing you can handle right?"

You smirk at him

"Why are you asking anyway?"

He asked, taking the flower from your hand and casually inspect it

"Nothing? So I know when I should stop."

You said with a shrug

"When you should stop?"

There was a slight confusion in his gray iris when he asked that

"Yes, when I should stop and settle down, probably."

"Ah."

Minding your own business as you kept your glaze on the flowers, thinking about your conversation with your mentor, the words he said that you can't seem to forget.

Well as long as you don't over, over work yourself you'll be fine right? Just a little bit more won't hurt right?

Looking at the pair of more than a friend, but less than a lover. Fiona truly could not bare it anymore. Not when she could clearly see the shaking of her hand as she kept the thermal magic upon both of them. Not when he was looking at her trying to figure out what could she be hiding from him that he can't seem to figure out.

Not when she could clearly see the care and love between the two of them that they tried their best to ignore.
