Lost, that was all I was feeling; as if I couldn't find my place in this world. Why was I here? Sometimes I wonder why I do the things I do, why am I like this. I don't feel like I belong. The reality was messed up for me. For days it felt like I was living in a dream world and some days I was 'WIDE AWAKE' and that's what scared me. Seeing the world as it is, not how those children cartoons depicted it as.
I have watched much anime in my life you could say I am somewhat of an otaku. It helps me to get rid of my fear of the 'real' world but sometimes I start to think...' What if all those ideas were made real? What if I can create a world of my own where all my fantasies come true?'.
So I started to write, to create my world, a world of fantasy. I called it Amyris. I spent weeks creating it from scratch. Many papers and books began to pile up in my room filled with my ideas. But it was all about to end...the faithful day of my death...
Morning drew near as I opened my eyes. Swinging, I blocked the view of the blinding sun that was coming through my windows. " Ice must have opened my curtains", I said angrily as I didn't like getting out of bed so early. I slowly got out of bed and went to take a shower.
"Ice you opened my curtains again!", I exclaimed angrily as I headed downstairs already dressed for high school. She looked guiltily at me from the isle in the kitchen, " I thought the sun would brighten up your room. In there is always so dark and dreary, I figured a little sun would liven it up", she said smiling nervously seeing my angry face. " Well it didn't", I said upset. "Sorry", she replied with a sad face. "It's ok", I replied, " I know you meant well", I said sying as my anger faded seeing her sad face. " Where's mom and dad?", I asked, "gone off to work", she answered eating a slice of toast. " So early?". " Yes, they said they had important business meetings today at their company", she replied with a sad face. " Ok", I said as I was accustomed to this by now. They never stay the morning, always working. I was used to it. In fact, I hardly see them.
"Well I am off to school", I announced grabbing my bag off the aisle, as I headed to the drawing-room door. " Be careful", Ice replied hearing me, " I heard there's a murderer on the loose", my big sister said with an ominous vibe. "Really?", I asked as she nodded. " Try to come home early", my big sister said with a worried undertone. "Ok", I replied. I began my journey by first opening the gate and heading out. I didn't know that day something dire would have befallen me. I was carefree as usual but keen not to get attacked by the said murderer. That's when I heard it, a sound that changed my life forever; fate.
"Someone!!....Anyone!Save me!"
I didn't know what to do and was stuck as fear and anxiety accelerated my heartbeat. " What to do?", I asked myself looking around the ally where the shout of desperation came from. The woman started crying. I decided to call the cops briefly explaining everything before I carefully went towards the direction I heard her voice coming from. I made my way around an unfamiliar corner and saw a storehouse. I peeked through a crack in the wooden doors and looked around before I quietly opened the doors seeing her tied up on the ground full of bruises and with a black eye. I began to untie her quickly afraid that the 'murderer' might reappear.
"Thank you", she said smiling at me with gratitude after I untied the cloth that was in her mouth. We then rushed out of the storehouse seeing the murderer was still not coming. 'Where is he? I thought he would have heard all that noise. Something is not right'. " Run into the main street", I told her as we began to really run. I looked out for the murderer, now alert that he might 'pop' out of nowhere. I talked too fast. The murderer was close behind us now, as I saw a shady-looking guy pop out of nowhere running after us at full speed after noticing the lady in the front. " Run!", I yelled to the lady in front of me as I fastened my pace.
My eyes suddenly got blurry as soon as I stepped into the main road filled with people. 'Why do I feel so light? My chest hurts', I thought as I placed my hands on my chest and removed it only to see, 'blood?'. ' Am I going to die', I thought as my conscientiousness began to fade in and out as I fell to the ground. People in the street began to crowd around me. I heard the police coming and the ambulance close behind. " Miss!", the woman yelled as she stayed by my side, " Hold on!". "Amyra!", I heard my sister's panicked voice as she got close to my direction pushing through the crowd, holding my lunch box in her trembling hands. " Did they catch the murderer?", I asked the woman I saved. She nodded. " Keep your eyes open...Amy!!!", was the last thing I heard from my sister as I closed my tired eyes and drifted into a deep sleep; one that I would never again awake from or so I thought.
Everything was dark. I felt light and lifeless as I drifted through this strange dark space. ' God keep my sister safe. Please don't let them blame themselves for what happened', I thought as I drifted along this dark space for what felt like an eternity.
I soon saw a bright light that pulled me towards it. It felt warm and homey like it was comforting me. My surroundings started to change as my eyes started to slowly open. Everything was hazy at first. It took a while for my eyes to adjust to the lighting.
I got up from where I was lying and started to observe my surroundings. "How in tge world did I get here?!!". I was in a huge forest. I was lying on a rock beside a mystical waterfall. The trees were filled with fireflies and the moon shone brightly. ' It is huge!' ('Where am I?!!)
After seeing no wild beasts trying to eat me I calmed down. I began to walk around the area of the large flat rock, that I somehow arrived on in the middle of this forest, wherever this is. I stared at my reflection in the water from the edge of the rock. Strangely the waterfall didn't make it ripple or bubble. I now had long, straight black hair with gold eyes! 'I look just like the character in the book I wrote. She was , the one in charge of Amyris, its protecror but why do I now look like her?!'. ' I'm not complaining though, now I looked cool and beautiful'. "My skin is so smooth and clean now", I exclaimed as I touched my face. " Finally! No acne!", I shouted rejoicing.
I saw a path of stones going across the water leading to the edge of the lake. I sat back on my stone closing my eyes as my surroundings were so serene, trying to take in everything that happened so far.
"Welcome to Amyris, Amyra"." where did that come from?", I thought as I looked around the area. " Giving full privileges, as well as, all passive and active skills". "It's in my head! Am I crazy?!". It answered, "No, you are not crazy". 'Now I remembered everything, why I looked like the pritector of Amyris... I was now in Amyris the world I designed when I was 10. A crazy set of circumstances got me here and I want to forget them. I was and am the Protector of Amyris...which is insane.. and according to otaku knowledge having a system is the norm for a reincarnation', Amyra thought, figuring everything out after hearing the system's response.' status'.' i should be able to access a status board as its designer if I remember correctly', Amyra remembered as it was the norm for all reincarnations. 'As expected...now I am...Over-powered!'
