Astrid's POV

Napatingala ako sa napakataas na building na to.

Lopez Corporation

Huminga ako ng malalim at naglakad papasok sa loob na may ngiti sa labi.

Dumiretso ako sa Information Desk para makahingi ng visitor's pass.

"Proceed ka nalang sa 15th floor, Ma'am"

"Thank you" sabi ko at ngumiti

Napansin kong nakatingin sa akin yung mga lalaki doon sa Information Desk.

May mali ba sa ayos ko?

Nang makarating ako sa 15th floor. Dumiretso ako sa CR na pambabae na nakita ko at tinignan ang sarili ko sa salamin

"Ayos naman mukha ko ah, bakit ganun sila makatingin?"

Paglabas ko ng CR, may mga nakasalubong akong lalaki at nakatingin din sila sa akin, ano ba meron?

Nakakatawa ba ang suot ko? Presentable naman ang suot ko ah! Hindi naman revealing ang damit ko ah! Disente naman ang damit ko

"Hi, Ma'am. How may I help you?"

"Hi, I am looking for Mr. Dennis Cortez para po sa initial interview ko"

"Name po?"

"Leiah Astrid Villasis"

"Ah, this way po, follow me" sabi nya at ginuide ako papunta sa isang conference room. "Have a seat po muna, I'll call Mr. Cortez lang po"

"Thank you" I said and smiled

Umupo ako at inilibot ang mata ko sa kabuuan ng kwarto. Ang laki naman nitong conference room. Mas malaki pa sa kwarto namin ni Felize to eh.

Napatayo ako nang bumukas ang pintuan at may pumasok na isang lalaki.

"Miss Villasis?"

"Yes po, sir"

"Have a seat" he said at iginiya ako para umupo. "I have read your resumé, you have no experience in Secretarial position?"

"None, sir"

"What made you apply as a secretary here in Lopez Corporation? Not that I am belittling your credentials. I just want to know your reason"

"I was a server in a fast food chain before, and I think it was obvious in my resumé that I did not finish College. I want to challenge myself to a new role, and I happen to saw the advertisement in the newspaper about the vacancy of secretarial position here in Lopez Corporation. I may not have any experience but I am a fast learner and willing to work hard to be deserving in that role"

"I like your reason ah. You want to challenge yourself. Ngayon lang ako nakarinig na nag-apply ng secretary because they wanted to challenge themselves. Yung iba kasi they take secretary as a very lowly role"

"Wala naman po kasi akong ipagmamalaki para maliitin ang kahit anong role sa isang trabaho."

"But, may I know the reason kung bakit hindi ka nakatapos ng college? Ang ganda kasi ng background mo eh, you were a valedictorian, that describes how smart you are, and as per your assessment, you got 50 over 50, while the others only got 40 to 45."

"Ahm.... Family problem po"

As much as possible I don't want people to know na may anak ako, not because kinakahiya ko yun, but, because I don't want how the society works. I don't want Felize's world to be toxic like how it was to me.

Kung kailangan kong itago ang anak ko sa mundo just for her to have a peaceful life, I will do it

"Oh! I see. Alright, can you wait for 10 to 15 minutes while I review your application? I'll be back para sabihin sayo kung uuwi ka or you will proceed with the final interview"
