Chapter 17: Hellish Ocean

A green aura leaked from Raiser's staff and seeped into Kounoa's head. Her claws were sharp, and her fur frizzed up. The ominous red aura glowed heavily around her. Demon-like horns grew from the sides of her head. The horns curled as she growled to herself. Kounoa's eye changed to the color red.

Kiiroibara shakily got up and stared at Raiser's staff. I have to focus. I have to use what the staff has. She kept her focus on the staff. Something useful has to come out of copying the staff, right?

Kounoa appeared to teleport in front of Kiiroibara. She grabbed the tanuki woman by the neck and slammed her into the ground. The impact of the slam caused a building to fall on top of both of them. The loud screaming from multiple bystanders got cut off as the building crashed on the ground.

The shiba woman burst out of the mixture of rubble and bloody dead bodies with Kiiroibara's unconscious body. She tossed it to the side. The rest of Kounoa's sins get up and realize that both Taida and Kiiroibara have fallen.

"So we'll have to go against the one we work for, huh?" Bou asked.

Suguru nodded. "This seems to be the case, unfortunately!"

"I wouldn't mind giving the boss a few whips!~" Saboten giggled.

"No! You guys should understand that we can't hurt her. We have to calm her down or something." Yoku replied and tapped his foot on the ground nervously.

"But we don't have Taida! How can we calm her?" The lion man questioned Yoku.

"I don't know, okay?!" The opossum groaned. "Just don't hurt her and dodge her attacks! The less damage she does to you, the better!"

Kounoa let out a ground rattling roar and charged at them at a light speed. Before any of her sins could react, Kounoa appeared in front of Saboten and jumped to her head. She flipped in the air before slamming her leg onto the goat's head.

Saboten crashed through the ground. The crash caused more buildings to fall and shatter. Kounoa looked at Yoku. The shiba woman charged at Yoku, as he was her next target.

Kounoa opened her eyes. She woke up on a what looked like an endless terrain of flames. She looked around before facing a tall, demonic giant. This is all confusing. Where even am I? Kounoa walked up to the demon. "Who are you? Why am I here?"

The demon's crimson eyes stared Kounoa down. "I am your wrath. My name is Wrath." Its voice rumbled lowly. "You're here because you're in a phase a pure rage. You couldn't handle all the information and truth given to you."

Kounoa stared at Wrath with no words to respond with.

"Your father set a seal that got broken. You are stuck and here and there's nothing you can do about anything outside of your mind, Kounoa." Wrath spoke. "You may destroy the entire city if Raiser doesn't take you anywhere else. And after that, you will go onto destroying more cities."

Kounoa dropped to her knees. "You must let me take control again! Please! I beg of you! I don't want any of this!"

They revealed a mirror to Kounoa. "It's not possible." The demon said. "I will show you the first time you released your wrath."

The shiba woman watched as a youthful version of herself attack her sins and her father. It's been so long since I've seen my dad... Why would they hide this from me?

Shion and the sins struggled against the young shiba. Kounoa nearly killed the sins and her father. Shion used the last bit of his strength to create a seal for her wrath before he died.

This is hopeless. Kounoa teared up. I can't do anything about this. Everyone's going to die because of me! She stared at the mirror. It switched from her father to the outside world. She saw herself attacking her own sins.

Her sins avoided most of her attacks, but she was too fast for them to react to the rest of her attacks. Suguru created a shield with his armor once more, but Kounoa gave it heavy punches and left dents in it. The enraged shiba woman hit the shield with a hefty punch and knocked the lion back.

Bou stretched her arms out and increased the size of her hands. She tried restraining Kounoa by putting her in between both hands. Kounoa easily pushed away the hands and dashed at the shark woman. She gave Bou a knee to the face and sent her flying into a building.

Saboten climbed out of the hole and licked the blood off of her face with a smirk. "What a lovely hit, Kounoa!~ But now, it's my turn!~" The goat woman created another whip and lashed both of them at Kounoa.

The whips wrapped around Kounoa's wrists, but she pulled them towards her and brought Saboten along with them. She gave Saboten a high kick to the chin and knocked her down. The whips unwrapped from her wrists.

Kounoa turned to Yoku and roared at him. The red aura turned crimson as she powered up more.

Tears rolled down the opossum's eyes. "Kounoa! I don't know if you can hear me, but I'm sorry! We all are! We didn't want to lie to you, but we did it for the safety of everyone! You don't have to forgive us, but I don't want to lose anyone else close to me!" He yelled.

Kounoa felt a pulse in her heart after hearing Yoku's speech. Wrath immediately noticed and raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?"

The crimson aura around her body got brighter. It developed into a pink aura. Half of the world ignited with flames turned into pink sparkles. "Even after all of this. Even though my own bodyguards- No, sins. My sins lied to me, and I forgive them."

Wrath's eyes widened as an angel-like figure appeared behind her. "Stop this!"

"What is there to stop? Wrath isn't the only thing that lies in this body."

The world in Kounoa's mind shone with a bright light. It engulfed her, along with Wrath and the angel.
