Izuku came rushing down the stairs in his usual fashion.

"(Y/N)! Shouto said you got your hero license!"

At the reminder, you felt both shame and elation and settled on an awkward smile before you spoke. "Yeah, Enji pulled some strings to help me take the exam early."

Your eyes widened as you realized you'd basically just revealed that Endeavor was Shouto's dad. Your eyes shot to his face but he looked unperturbed. Seeing your distress, he said, "Oh don't worry. He knows already."

You breathed a sigh of relief. "Phew. Thought I fubbernucked that one."

"Oh Endeavor did? You're closer to him than I thought. Of course Shouto said you were but it's a bit difficult to imagine."

You frowned at that. "Yeah I suppose it is."

You turned to Shouto, an idea flashing through your mind. "Oh! You could show him the videos you keep taking of us."

Shouto froze, his mismatched eyes widening. In a small voice he asked, "You know?"

"What's it for? Blackmail? I hope not. I don't want Enji to feel awkward about being affectionate around me."

Shouto vehemently shook his head. "It's nothing bad, I promise you, (Y/N). I can't tell you yet, though."

You let out a breath. "Okay. I trust you, bud. Now go nerd out with your friend," you said, shoo-ing them back upstairs.

You turned the Inko. "Inko, could I ask you something?"

She swiveled around, startled, before nodding and sitting down on the couch. You plopped down next to her.

"Okay so this is like a mom question."

"A mom question?"

"I need you to act like you're my mom for a second."

She looked shocked for a millisecond before smiling. "How can I help you, son?"

Your breath hitched. You repressed your mommy issues for the time being. 'I should talk to our therapist about that, damn.'

"Okay so my friend," you began and Inko gave you a knowing look. "May be in love with his best friend. And a few days ago, he used a quirk that proved that the friend he likes is attracted to him."

She stared at you levely, not betraying any emotion she might be feeling.

"And my friend doesn't know what to do with that information. Because his friend might be feeling those feelings but not be aware of them or maybe actively trying to repress them, or maybe not be attracted to my friend for any special reason."

You took a breath."So should my friend just act like nothing happened? I mean, he doesn't have any particular compulsion to change their relationship in any way-"

"If you don't want things to change, then they don't have to," she answered simply.

You paused, thinking it over, before exhaling. The tension left your body.

"You're right."

"I'm going to admit, that it's weird that you don't want to further your relationship with him."

You shrugged. "I just don't see the point? We live together, we eat together, we're going to work together, we spend time together when he's off work. Now that I'm only studying part time I have even more time to burn with him and Shouto."

"But there's a difference between romantic and platonic love," she added.

You sighed, having had this conversation with many people. "Is there? I admit that familial love is a beast of its own - the first time I experienced it was with Shouto. But romantic and platonic love bisect in so many ways. Where do you draw the line? Not having sex? Physical affection? Kissing? I've never felt this way about a friend and I probably won't again. Ever. He's the closest I'll probably get to conventional romantic love and I find it as terrifying as it is fascinating."
