"So I'm thinking about finding a job at a local hospital now that Lyric is a little bit older now and she's more willing to stay with other people," Demi said as she forked a piece of the grilled salmon that she had ordered. Trey corked his eyebrow at her but didn't say anything for a while because he didn't want to say the wrong thing.

"Why? I mean, there's not really a need for you to go to work, if that's what this is. You know I'll always have more than enough to take care of you and Lyric," Trey responded as Demi smiled but shook her head.

"I went to school for such a long time Trey. I'd like to put my degree to use, even if it's just a nursing job like I had in Texas. I want to do something," Demi answered as if it should be completely obvious to him. She was aware that he would always have the means to give her everything that she could ever want and so much more but she didn't care. She never really asked for a lot in the first place. But what was the point of all those hours studying for exams and all that money on tuition if she wasn't going to use her degree? Demi didn't even mind working.

"Well if that's what you wanna do, baby, I fully support it." His statement alone caused Demi to burst into a wide grin. She wasn't expecting him to go along with it so easily because Trey could sometimes let his ego get in the way of everything else, but he was supporting her just like she wanted him to and maybe the night hadn't started off so great but knowing that her man was gonna support her going back to work was enough to make the rest of the night worthwhile.

When they got back to the house, everyone was sleeping. The lights were off and it was completely silent so Demi took her heels off so that she wouldn't make any unnecessary noise. Trey grabbed her hand and led her through the house using the flashlight on his phone. When they got to the stairs, he swept her up into his arms as she tried to stifle her giggles, carrying her up the stairs bridal style as Demi wrapped her arms around his neck and took his phone out of his hand so that he wouldn't drop her.

"Ow," she hissed as he accidentally bumped into one of the side tables in the hallway. Trey chuckled and whispered an apology before he carried her into her room and laid her down on the bed.

"I had a good time tonight," Demi said as Trey smiled and flopped down next to her.

"I'm glad you did. We haven't done that in a while. I like when we get time to ourselves. We deserve it," he said, pressing a chaste kiss to her lips. Demi placed her hand on the back of his neck and brought him back down for another kiss since he was hovering over her. This time, she didn't pull away for a few seconds.

"I like it too," she admitted before he kissed her again, opening up her lips with his tongue and refusing to pull away as Demi breathed through her nose and tugged him down so that he was straddling her and she could feel all of him on her in the most pleasurable way possible. The only thing that was in the way was their clothes and her own insecurities.

Trey couldn't even remember the last time that he had kissed Demi like this. He couldn't remember the last time his lips had caressed her soft lips or the last time she had allowed his hands to roam her body. He couldn't remember the last time she had allowed him to make love to her, and right now, that was all he wanted to do.

His fingers fumbled with the buttons on her shirt and when he finally got them all loose, he pushed the shirt off of her shoulders, which caused Demi to pull away with a shake of her head.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm about to make love to you. Is that not what you want?"

"Trey I-" she could feel it. She could feel herself getting choked up so she began rapidly blinking so that none of her tears would fall.
