Trey watched as Demi dropped her suitcase by his feet and immediately ran over to her older sister. He remembered Dallas from when they were little, even if they hadn't been that close because Dallas had always been with Forrest. Dallas wrapped her arms around Demi and stroked her hair down as Demi's shoulders began to visibly shake. At first, he wasn't gonna come to Texas with Demi because he didn't feel the need to. He only knew bits and pieces about why her mom was in rehab and why she had gotten out and until Demi told him the full story, it really wasn't his business. But there was a charity basketball game in Dallas so he figured he could just stay there for the few days until the game happened.

"Hello," Trey politely greeted, dragging his suitcase and Demi's behind him. Demi pulled away from Dallas and went into Trey's arms, resting her head on his chest as she sniffled and Dallas began to lead them out of the airport after turning her nose up at Trey. He was more than confused at her behavior because he couldn't remember doing anything to personally offend her.

"She's at my house," Dallas spoke loud enough for her sister to hear her and Trey felt Demi tense up in his arms. He hadn't booked a hotel because they were just gonna stay at Demi's apartment but he guessed that they were going to Dallas's house first.

Dallas lived in the family house, in the suburbs that he used to live in. They were nice sized houses but they weren't mansions.

"When I left she was sleeping so she's probably awake now," Dallas took the key out of the ignition and Demi wrapped her arms around herself as she peered up at the house. She could've stayed there with Dallas but there was a reason why she didn't and now that reason was out of rehab.

"I'll take you home after this," Dallas exited the car but Demi stayed frozen. Trey hardly knew what was going on but he figured that he could step in.

"You know you don't have to do this, right? You don't have to see her right now if you're not ready," Trey coaxed her and Demi nodded and made a move to open the door. It wasn't about being ready, she just wanted to get this over with.

"Just stay with me...okay?" Demi asked and Trey nodded, because what else could he really do? Demi opened the car door and scooted out and Trey followed her lead. She reached back and intertwined their fingers as she entered the house. They heard Dallas talking to someone in the living room and he felt Demi freeze momentarily, until he placed his hand on her waist and gently pushed her forward.

Demi's mom looked...different. When they were growing up, Dianna had been beautiful. She had been the crush of every guy on the block, which had attracted a millionaire her way. One day, Dianna had just disappeared, leaving Dallas behind to take care of Demi, and it had been like that ever since. Demi never told him where she went, and she rarely spoke about her mother.

"Demetria, is that you?" He saw the muscle under Demi's right eye twitch and he squeezed her hand again as she moved forward.

"Hi," Demi's voice was small and she was taking half of baby steps to make it to her mother. Her expression was blank and since Demi was taking so long, Dianna took it upon herself to move forward and wrap Demi in her embrace.

"Oh baby you look so well. You look so healthy," Dianna cooed. She now has deep wrinkles in her face and above her cheek bones was sunken in. She didn't look like she used to. He didn't know if it was drugs or something else, but she just didn't look like Dianna anymore.

"No thanks to you," he heard Dallas mutter behind her, and Demi still hadn't returned Dianna's hug so she finally pulled away.

"I'm so glad I'm back baby. Now it can be me, you and Dallas again. Just like old times. Isn't that right Dallas?" Dianna turned and smiled at her older daughter, obviously not catching onto her mood.
