The first five months of Jacob's life were much easier than the first five months of Lyric's life because Jacob and Lyric were complete opposites. Trey and Demi weren't sure if it was because he was a boy or because he had more of Demi's personality than Trey's but he was a really chill baby. The only time he was really upset was when he was hungry or needed to be changed. Other than that all he really did was sleep, eat, and look for entertainment from his parents and his sister. His grandparents were completely in love with him, fawning over their first grandson and taking any chance they had to watch him, which was few and far between because Demi didn't like leaving him with just anyone, even if it was Trey's parents. Everyone had been adjusting to the new baby well, including Lyric...or so they thought.

"What took you so long in the shower?" Trey questioned as Demi exited their bathroom while tying her hair up into a bun to go to sleep in. It was a late night because Jacob had been fighting sleep and Lyric didn't want to get her hair washed and when Trey wasn't really being effective, Demi had to put the kids to sleep all by herself.

"Jacob threw up on me while I was trying to feed him," Demi groaned, climbing into bed since Trey had already pulled the covers back for her. All she wanted was to go to sleep and she was well on her way until Trey wrapped his arms around her and began to trail his hands up her shirt.

"Baby, not tonight. We can do it this weekend when your parents take the kids but not tonight." She pushed his hands off of her and moved away so that she could get some sleep but she knew her husband so she wasn't surprised when she was pulled back into his warm embrace.

"The kids are asleep and we haven't had any time to ourselves in so long." He planted soft feather like kisses down her neck to her collarbone and Demi wanted to give into him but she wanted to sleep more. Instead of fighting him, she decided to let him have his little fun until she fell asleep which was what their love life had been like for the past ten months or so.

"Mommy, daddy!" Trey groaned and moved away from his wife as Lyric busted into their room and hopped on the bed, crawling in between her parents and taking it upon herself to snuggle underneath the covers.

"Lyric, what are you doing?"

"And why are you in a onesie? I didn't put you in a onesie to go to sleep," Demi questioned as Lyric yawned and cuddled into her mother's side.

"I wanna sleep in here," she pouted, closing her eyes because she didn't think her parents would protest. They usually gave her what she wanted.

"You have a perfectly good bed in your room, it's not thunderstorming, and you didn't have a nightmare. You can sleep in your own bed Lyric. You're not a baby," Trey said, earning a glare from Demi who didn't have much of a problem with Lyric sleeping in the same bed as them. It was only for one night.

"But Jacob gets to sleep in here!" She exclaimed, even though Jacob was in his own room tonight, he would probably end up in their room when Demi had to wake up with him.

"Jacob is a baby. You're not. You can sleep in your own bed. Come on, I'll take you." Trey stood up and went to pick Lyric up but she squirmed away from him and kept her death grip on Demi.

"Trey, stop, she's fine in here. It's only for one night," Demi hissed, rolling her eyes at her husband and moving Lyric so she was at the edge of the bed instead of in the middle. Lyric curled in towards her and Demi smoothed her hair away from her forehead and kissed the top of her head as her eyes fluttered closed and then she was out like a light.

"She's too old to be sleeping in here with us..."

"She's four, Trey. And you just need to be more understanding of her, okay? You know how things have been since Jacob's been here. It's not gonna be an everyday thing but this is just something we can do to assure her that we still love her and we haven't forgotten about her," Demi calmly said, turning to face her husband who rolled his eyes as he climbed into bed.
