Demi was gonna kill Trey. She was gonna kill him. She had called him and specifically asked him if he had picked Lyric up from school because he came back from tour early and he said no. And now she was getting tagged in a post with selfies of the two of them with the message that they were waiting for her at home? He knew how paranoid she was about stuff like this and yes the pictures were cute and she stopped being angry for a second when she read through the comments and stuff but this was so serious. Kids got kidnapped every day and it didn't help that most of Trey's fans were borderline crazy.
As soon as she entered the house and keyed the code to the alarm back in, she heard Lyric's obnoxious laughter that she no doubt got from her. Demi shimmied out of her coat and kicked off her shoes as she moved further into the house and found the two of them in the kitchen, Trey making faces at Lyric as she sucked on a Popsicle while letting raspy giggles escape her lips. Demi pulled out her phone and snapped a quick picture of them, uploading it to Instagram and making sure to tag Trey so that his phone would alert him.
@dlneverson: found them! 🙆🏻👨👩👧🙌🏾😘 @TreySongz
Trey looked up but she raised her eyebrow at him as his face turned serious and Lyric pulled her Popsicle away from her mouth.
"Daddy why'd you stop?" Lyric said, and Demi didn't have to see her face to know that she was pouting.
"Turn around," he pointed behind him and Lyric turned her little head around, her eyes widening and Demi's smile growing bigger by the second.
"MOMMY!" Lyric squealed, abandoning her Popsicle before hopping off of the tall stool and running towards her mother. She slowed down, being mindful of her stomach, right before she wrapped her arms around her legs and smiled.
"I missed you," she cooed as Demi raised her eyebrow at Trey who was just watching his two girls with a smile on his face.
"Lyric," Demi knelt down to her height and lightly grasped her arms so that she would focus on her. "I know you're not responsible for this, but you do know that if I'm supposed to pick you up from school and someone else comes and it's not me or your dad or anyone else that you know and trust...you know not to go with them, right?" Demi questioned as Lyric nodded her head.
"Stranger danger mommy! But I thought it was okay because daddy came into my class to surprise me and he said that we were gonna surprise you too," Lyric replied, putting her head down to avoid her mother's stare. No one in the house liked when Demi was upset at them.
"I know baby, I'm not mad. It was the best surprise ever." Demi lifted Lyric's chin and kissed all over her face as Lyric squealed and began to giggle again. When she finally stopped, she stared at her mother with those puppy dog eyes that no one could resist.
"Don't be mad at daddy. He just wanted to surprise you and make you happy," she whispered as a grin spread across Demi's face and she looked up at Trey.
"Why don't you go do your homework and I'll be upstairs in a minute to help you, okay?" Lyric nodded before sprinting up the stairs, leaving Demi to stand on her own and slowly make her way to Trey. She wasn't gonna lie. Even though she hated the way he went about it, she missed her husband. They hadn't slept in the same bed or spent any quality time together in so long and she was craving his touch and his smell and his warmth. This man truly was the love of her life.
"You scared me," Demi breathed out, looking up at him as she wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Baby-"
"But I'm so glad you're back Trey. No more tours for a while, okay? You can't leave me for that long ever again," Demi cried as she let her head rest on his chest, and she let him hold her as close as her belly would allow him to.
"I know baby, I never wanna leave you for that long again," he whispered into her ear, stroking her hair down as she inhaled and exhaled, taking in nothing but his scent and his loving aura. God, did she miss her husband.
He knelt down and caressed her stomach in his hands, pushing up her shirt and placing a few kisses on her stomach before talking to their son. It was a boy, and they both couldn't be happier. They loved Lyric with everything they had, but she was a handful and her little attitude could be too much at times. Now they would have the best of both worlds.
"How has he been?" Trey questioned as he stood back up and wrapped his arms around Demi. He would never get tired of the feel of having her in his arms, safe and secure, just where she was supposed to be.
"Like a little soccer player...but much better than Lyric. I met with my nutritionist the other day to adjust my diet because my iron levels have been a little bit low but other than that, I'm good. We're good...and even better now that you're back," Demi replied, that face breaking smile that Lyric had inherited from her spreading across her lips again.
Every night while he was on tour, he would Facetime Demi and Lyric before they went to sleep for an hour, just talking to them about their day and talking to her stomach and singing Lyric to sleep. Every night all he wanted was to be back at home with his family where he belonged, and now he finally was and he didn't even know what to do with himself. He was just so happy to be home.
Since someone finally made some requests, next will be them having the baby, then a flashback of their wedding, and then the slow motion chapter. :)
