First of all, OMG GUYS 10.1K? When I first started writing, I was like I'm gonna be so happy if I get 10+ reads. SERIOUSLY EVERYONE, THANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE YOU ALL.

The ball was held in a small castle in the Forbidden Cities. Some technopaths, flashers, telepaths, and psinopaths had worked together to hide it. They had created an invisible force field that prevented anyone on the outside from seeing the castle. However, in case any human entered the forcefield for whatever reason, it would look like a haunted, dilapidated old shack.

When the humans emerged from the forcefield, their minds would be completely wiped of what had happened in the time they were in the forcefield. This prevented suspicion as to why there was a creepy old shack that hadn't been there before.

When Dex, Tam, Wylie, Ruy, Alvar, Dalphina, Linh, Marella, and Sophie Foster glittered into view, Sophie immediately recognised where they were from the tall clock tower right next to them. They were in London.

Sophie had gone to London every year with her human family to visit her 'aunt' who lived there. Looking around, she felt a sense of nostalgia and hoped that she could find the time to walk around the familiar city.

A guard greeted them at the door, and they all held up their black and gold invitation cards.

"Welcome, I assume you know where the ball is held?" He asked and Ruy nodded.

"Don't have too much fun," the guard said, winking at Dalphina.

Dalphina's ears turned red and she pushed them all inside, while Alvar, Ruy, and Dex smirked.

"I'm curious, Dalphina. What did you do?" Linh asked, to which Dalphina cleared her throat and muttered something incomprehensible. LInh looked like she was about to ask more, but her sweet personality let it go.

The inside of the castle was completely different from the outside. The walls and columns were all made out of marble, shiny without a speck of dirt or scratch on them. Candles lined the intricately designed columns and chandeliers hung from the ceilings.

This, however, was nothing compared to the actual ballroom Dex led them to.

The ballroom had the highest domed-shaped ceiling Sophie had ever seen. From it hung another chandelier, bigger and fancier than all the rest. Instead of lightbulbs, it was lit with candles, and the flames were controlled by the Pyrokinetics.

A wide staircase was made out of polished marble and covered with a red carpet. The grand staircase had wooden railings with vines of roses twined around it, and in between the railings and the floor, were intricate swirls painted gold.

Although the floor of the ballroom was made out of wood to make the acoustics better, it was polished to perfection and looked just as glamorous as the marble floors.

On both sides of the ballroom, there were large French doors. Some led to rounded balconies while others led to the garden. The garden was well taken care of with neatly trimmed grass and rows of alluring flowers.

Lastly, at the very end of the ballroom, there was an orchestra, and beside it, a buffet table. Although they were only a few minutes early, there were already a lot of other people dressed as lavishly as them.

According to Ruy, the castle had been the Neverseen's place for major events forever and had not been invaded in a long time.

When they reached the bottom of the staircase, a dwarf popped up from the ground, scaring the living daylights out of Marella, and took their shawls and coats.

Alvar immediately broke off from the rest of the group and headed to the left corner of the ballroom.

"Don't break too many hearts," Dalphina called after him.

Alvar turned back and smiled faintly, rolling his eyes.

Helloo, if there are a lot of redundant things, just bear with me and keep them in mind please. I promise you it will make much more sense later on. Nothing much is going to happen in these few chapters btw. I just want to build up the storyline for a certain something. Also, sorry this was kind of short.

Constructive criticism is appreciated. Thank you for reading and stay safe! I hope you enjoyed the chapter!
