Short a/n: I forgot to say that Tam was also never forced to work for the Neverseen
Turns out, Nubinti was right. Sophie almost had a headache from all the information she received.
Turns out Gethen's parents abandoned him 2 months after he manifested as a telepath. He was the weakest telepath in his level and his parents didn't want to be seen with such a disgrace.
After he was abandoned, Fintan found him in Atlantis and took him into the Neverseen.
There, he trained, put in his blood sweat and tears and finally grew to be one of the strongest telepaths in the entire elven popular
Ruy was also abandoned for his unique powers and taken in by Fintan.
However, it was Lady Gisela's story that stuck with her the most and made the missing pieces click into place.
Sophie had always secretly wondered why Lady Gisela joined the Neverseen and started the Lodestar Initiative. She had nothing to gain and her life was already perfect.
If she wondered out loud, Keefe would just say she was pure evil.
She still remembered the conversation vividly.
Flashback
The door opened and Lady Gisela walked in.
The more time Sophie spent with the Neverseen, the more she related to Nubinti's words. Everywhere she walked, glares followed her.
It was mostly the older members though. She supposed the newer members didn't quite understand how much trouble she had caused previously.
She also noticed that the Neverseen was not bad at all. To each other they were caring and it felt like they were all one big family.
Lady Gisela was one of the last to tell Sophie her story. Perhaps now was time.
"Hey Sophie, I'm sure you've heard that I'm evil and you sure have experienced it yourself. I'm very sorry, but please just hear me out. It's your choice whether you want to forgive me or not." She said, walking to the edge of Sophie's bed.
"You know how most Polyglots have 2 abilities and I only have one? Well that's not true. I'm also a seer. It's an enhanced version of Councillor Terik's ability, decrying. That's why the Neverseen always wins. They have me and I know most of the things that are coming."

"When I got married to Cassius, I was so excited. I mean who wouldn't?" Lady Gisela let out a sigh. "2 months after our honeymoon he started being unreasonable. If the food I cooked didn't please him, he would scold me and slap me.
It got worse and worse until one day I was with Elwin and he was treating my wounds when Gethen walked in. He took one look at me and knew what had happened. He told me about the Neverseen and asked me to join, so I did.

Later that day, Elwin told me that I was pregnant and I was overjoyed. But that night, I had a vision of my son growing to be like Cassius and to change him- well you know what I did. That's what the Lodestar Initiative is about."
Lady Gisela finally finished and left Sophie reeling from shock and realization. She got up to leave, but not before revealing one last thing.
"And please don't give my husband such a hard time."
"Lord Cassius?" She asked.
Lady Gisela shook her head, "Gethen."
Flashback over
Sophie still remembered how her mind had flashed to every time she had passed the members. She didn't know why but she felt a particular hatred toward Gethen. It was like a sixth sense and all she could do was hope that it would pass.
