Chapter 5

Celebration of Dvalin's freedom

After saving Dvalin, the team headed back to Mondstadt. Jean went off to check things, Diluc left to check things at the winery and Venti went off somewhere else.

The travellers, Paimon and the others meet Amber and it seems she's clearing the hilichurl's equipment outside of the city. Amber was happy to see everyone safe. After a long explanation on what had happened while they were gone, it seems the hilichurls attacked the city.

After talking to Amber, Amber remembers she was supposed to treat them with sticky honey roast - which made Paimon remember she's hungry- before the whole Stormterror-crisis. She asked if the twins wanted join as well in which they nodded at the same time, freaking Paimon out again.

Amber tells them that she will join them after clearing the hilichurl's equipment in which they all understood and left. As they were walking to good hunters, they all saw Keaya.

"Oh my! Well, if isn't its the team that took care of the Stormterror threat!" Kaeya greeted them with his usual smirk.

"Ah, is the flirtatious Mr.Kaeya," Winter spoke. Kaeya only chuckled,a reaction opposite to what Winter wanted. "Ah,so you do feel something for me. And people say my charm is fake." Everyone narrowed their eyes at what Kaeya said.

"Ehem.. Anyways," Kaeya put a hand to his chest, "To bask in the presence of Mondstadt's new big hero is quite the morale boost. And that's coming from a knight." The twins smiled with pride at that, as Paimon only scoffed, "Sweet-talking sugar-coated Captain Kaeya.." "Haha. nonsense! I speak from the heart."

Aster narrowed her eyes at the captain infront of her, "What are you plotting..?" "Me?Nothing," Kaeya replied, "On the contrary,I'm trying to work out what others are plotting." Kaeya continued, "That's why I'm here-somewhere quiet, where I can collect my thoughts."

Oddly, during this conversation,Sara stayed silent the whole time. When y/n looked at her, it seemed Sara was minding her own business,counting the ingredients on the shelf. 'Atleast she isn't intruding in the conversation.'

"-A dragon wreaks havoc in Mondstadt, and the Acting Grandmaster leaves the city to combat the threat. Strategically, that's the perfect moment for the Abyss Order to make their move." Kaeya's voice interrupted y/n from her thoughts. "If you were the Abyss Order, wouldn't you take this chance to send in more than just a few hilichurls?"

The twins nodded, doing the same pose everyone does in game when they're thinking. "Your right, it doesn't add up.." "There must be more to this story," Lumine and Aether said. 'Is this the power of twins? How are they continuing each others sentences..?' Paimon thought.

"To get to the bottom of it,I waited for their next move." Sakura and Winter were paying close attention, whereas y/n was looking towards Sara who was.. still counting her ingredients..? 'Now that I look closely, she's probably counting orders from customers..'

"On the day you all went to Stormterror's lair, I saw a shadowy figure lurking in the city." Hearing this, Sakura had a realisation, 'Now that I listen to this dialogue once again.. Kaeya didn't actually had any reason to tell us about this information.' Sakura glanced towards Kaeya, 'Does that mean he's aware of Winter and her brothers connection? Or am I thinking too much?'

"All the Knights were outside fighting.It left the inside of the city completely unguarded.And so, I approaches the Abyss Order infiltrators for.. hmm. Lets call it fraternizing." Kaeya continued, saying how the Abyss Order is united under a single leader.
