Where Kunimi and Hinata are good friends and Hinata is absolutely smitten with Oikawa while Kunimi just wants to go home
Hinata yawned, rubbing his eyes as he trudged into school. He was dying to get some more sleep, but his grades desperately needed saving, so what could he do? Especially since he was a new transfer student, he was having trouble keeping up with the workload.
It was only 6 o'clock in the morning, and the sky was still dark. The whole area was practically a ghost town. The school was completely deserted, so much so that it amplified the soft "tap, tap" sound of his footsteps as he headed down the hallway.
He entered his classroom, switching on the lights. Setting down his bag, he took out his stack of textbooks, plopping himself onto the chair to get started on his cramming.
...
"Good morning, Oikawa-senpai!"
"Morning!"
Hinata stifled a yawn, absolutely exhausted. The corridor was filled with people, bustling with activity as students came to and fro, talking to friends, catching up over the weekend, and of course...
Fawning over Oikawa.
Even if he wasn't one of those people, Oikawa was still one of those people that you couldn't take your eyes off. He was just that noticeable and charismatic (if you could say that about him).
"Have you been sleeping at all?"
Hinata jumped, turning around to face Kunimi, who was standing right behind him, his hands tucked in his pockets.
"Oh my god, you scared me." Hinata said, pressing a hand to his heart. "I did sleep. For like, four hours."
The look Kunimi gave him was enough to show that he was not impressed.
"Come on, you know my mom is really going to kick me out of the house if I fail again." Hinata grumbled, as Kunimi started walking towards their classroom.
"Are you ignoring me? You're ignoring me, aren't you?" Hinata asked, backtracking with every step that Kunimi took. Kunimi simply shrugged, totally uninterested in the conversation.
Kunimi paused, his gaze turning to something behind Hinata. "Behind you," he said.
"What?" Hinata turned around to follow his gaze and-
"Ouch!"
"Told you." Kunimi said, steadying Hinata as he stumbled backwards into him, almost toppling over in the process.
Hinata rubbed his forehead, wincing slightly. "Sorry," he apologised, looking up at the person he'd bumped into.
It was Oikawa.
As if his life couldn't get any worse. Now that things had come to this, he'd probably become an outcast for the rest of his high school life for even daring to touch Oikawa. If you saw just how evil the girls at school could be, even to the boys... just thinking about it made him shiver.
"It's okay." Oikawa said, giving him a reassuring smile. "Be more careful next time, hm?"
Hinata wanted to die in a hole.
"Ah, Kunimi-chan, don't you dare skip training today, okay?" Oikawa warned with a smile on his face.
Kunimi just shrugged, but apparently that was enough for Oikawa, because he left shortly after exchanging an extremely one-sided conversation with him.
"Are you going to stay like this?" Kunimi asked after a few seconds of silence. He nudged Hinata, who was practically resting his whole weight on him, like his legs had given up on him.
"Let me just... take a moment to bring myself back together."
