Where Hinata starts his first day of school at Fukurodani

"Morning!"

"Hey hey hey, Hinata! Morning!" Bokuto called, heading over to the small first year.

"Bokuto-san, not so loud." Akaashi said behind him, noticing the few people turning around to look at them.

Bokuto wrapped an arm around Hinata. "Excited?" he asked. "First day of school!"

Hinata nodded, his eyes shining with excitement. It was his first day of school at Fukurodani, and he was extremely lucky to have Akaashi and Bokuto help him out at school.

"You look more excited than he is." Akaashi pointed out, tugging on Bokuto's arm and leading them towards the train station. "Let's not stand around. It's starting to get crowded."

Sure enough, people were starting to fill the train platform, most of which were either working adults or school children just like them.

"You're going for volleyball trials after school, right?" Akaashi asked.

"Yup!"

Hinata had technically already met most of the Fukurodani's volleyball team (owing to his extremely useful relations to their setter and ace), and he'd had experience playing with both of them as well, so neither were particularly worried that he wouldn't get in.

It was kind of a given, really.

The train slowed to a stop at the platform, and they got onboard.

"Careful." Akaashi warned, keeping a hand on Hinata's shoulder. The morning train ride was always packed with people, and it could get really packed. With how small-sized Hinata was, his mother had been worried that he wouldn't be able to make it on his own - something which annoyed Hinata a lot.

"It seemed busier than usual today." Bokuto mused. "Maybe it's because it's the first day of school."

"Probably." Akaashi agreed. "You'll have to get used to it."

Hinata pouted, squirming slightly as people started to press against them, forcing them into a smaller space. At some point, it became so packed that there was almost no space for him to even move a step.

The doors closed, and the train started to move. Akaashi steadied him as he stumbled slightly, letting Hinata use him as support.

"What's your class again?" Bokuto asked. "It was... 1-03, was it?"

Hinata opened his mouth to correct him, but Akaashi beat him to it.

"It's 1-06."

"Oh! I forgot." Bokuto laughed sheepishly. "Man, how do you remember all this stuff, Akaashi?"

"It's not that hard to remember." Akaashi said, leaning against the train. He felt Hinata's grip on his jacket tighten, and looked down at the smaller boy.

Hinata was shifting uncomfortably, muscles tensed, looking very disturbed.

"Is something wrong?" he asked, straightening up.

Hinata cleared his throat, shifting closer to Akaashi. "B-behind," he whispered softly, his voice hardly audible.

Akaashi's gaze flickered behind him, his eyes catching sight of a male standing right behind Hinata. His eyes were trained on Hinata, which definitely did not mean anything good.

He swapped places with Hinata, where his back would be safely against a corner, whispering to Bokuto about the male.

Bokuto immediately turned to shoot the said male a warning look, to which the male simply turned away as if nothing had happened.

"You okay?" Akaashi asked, patting Hinata's back gently to calm down the frightened boy.

"Seriously, people are creepy." Bokuto muttered, shaking his head in disapproval. "Isn't the first time this has happened either. And much worse."

His expression turned grim, and Akaashi looked away. Hinata stayed quiet, a little concerned at what his words suggested.

He suddenly became really grateful for the fact that he had two seniors to help him.
