Where Hinata is a little jealous of how popular Oikawa is

Hinata fiddled with his sleeves as he waited outside the school gates for Oikawa. He'd been released from class early because of examinations, and decided to pay a visit to his boyfriend since he had the spare time.

"Hinata? What're you doing here?"

He looked up at Iwaizumi, who was, indeed, very surprised to see him. Understandable, but did he have to make his emotions so clear? It was making him feel very out of place, standing there in his Karasuno uniform amongst a sea of turquoise.

"Ah, well, I got off school early, so..." He trailed off, leaving Iwaizumi to interpret the rest.

"Oikawa's still inside." Iwaizumi said, glancing behind him. "He's always busy, that idiot. We should probably find somewhere to wait."

Over the few months where he'd started dating Oikawa, Hinata had also inevitably formed a pretty close relationship with Iwaizumi. He definitely didn't mind it. In fact, he looked up to Iwaizumi - a fact which annoyed Oikawa very much - because of the strength he held as an ace.

Likewise, Iwaizumi had also grown fond of the first year.

"So, how's the team?"

...

About ten minutes later, the chattering from the students leaving the campus suddenly grew noticeably louder. Hinata jumped, turning around to look at what was happening.

Had something happened?

"Ah, he's out."

Hinata whipped his head towards Iwaizumi, who had nonchalantly straightened up from where he was leaning against the wall, picking up his bag from the ground and slinging it over his shoulder as he headed towards the crowd forming at the entrance of the school gates.

"Stay close. Girls are... scary." Iwaizumi said, sighing softly to himself. Hinata frowned, unsure of what that was supposed to mean.

As they neared the gates, he started to see the silhouette of a tall male.

Aka, Oikawa.

And lo and behold, there was a literally swarm of people surrounding him as he tried to make his way out of the school.

Correction: Not people.

Girls.

Iwaizumi stopped walking, and so did Hinata. He looked up at the third year in confusion as the latter scanned him up and down, as if silently judging him or something.

"Never mind. You'll never make it through by yourself."

"Make it through what?" Hinata asked, still not entirely sure what he was referring to.

Iwaizumi simply grabbed his wrist. "Oh well, looks like this'll be tough," he muttered, mostly to himself.

Then he dragged Hinata through the crowd.

"'Xcuse me, coming through," he called, squeezing past the group of squealing girls. Hinata stumbled after him, struggling to keep up with his pace as he squeezed past bodies after bodies (alive ones). At some point, he felt like he was going to just drown in the sheer number of people there.

After what seemed like an eternity, they finally broke through the crowd. And Hinata could finally breathe fresh air.

"I'm glad you're still alive." Iwaizumi said, and he was not joking.

"I'm glad I'm alive too." Hinata agreed. "Oh my god, are you sure people don't die here from that?"

"Iwa-chan!"

Iwaizumi turned to face Oikawa, who was making his way through the crowd from the other side, though with much more ease.

Hinata popped his head out from behind Iwaizumi, waving at him excitedly.

Oikawa's eyebrows probably shot up straight through the sky.

"Sho-chan?" he asked, flabbergasted as he quickly made his way over to them. "What're you doing here?"

But before he could reply, he was given a hard kick to the shin by a fuming Iwaizumi.

"Ow! Iwa-chan, what was that for?" Oikawa yelped, hopping away from Iwaizumi.

"That's for having to make me go through all of that trouble just to get to you." Iwaizumi grumbled.

"It's not my fault I'm so popular." Oikawa retorted.

"Well, maybe if you told those girls that-" Iwaizumi lowered his voice to a whisper, "you had a boyfriend, they would be clamouring all over you like idiots."

Hinata turned away, coughing softly. As much as he wanted to deny it, that stung quite a bit. It didn't matter whether he told anyone about his relationship, but for Oikawa...

Oikawa frowned, registering the look on Hinata's face before leaning down to give him a small peck on the cheek.

"Better now?" he asked, his eyes twinkling mischievously at the bewildered first year. "That's public enough, isn't it?"

Hinata turned red in embarrassment.

Very red.

Because now everyone was staring at them. Everyone had watched Oikawa kiss him.

"You're evil," he mumbled, burying his head in Oikawa's shirt to cover his flushed face.

Oikawa laughed, wrapping an arm around him. "How cute."

Iwaizumi sighed, rubbing his temples. That wasn't exactly what he'd meant by "tell them you have a boyfriend", but it did the job, so...

"Let's go, shall we?" Oikawa asked, nudging Hinata gently.
