My nightmare started like this...

I was in the hospital. "What am I doing here?" I asked aloud.

"You came to see me."

Shock filled every part of me as I turned to the bed. Sure enough, Marinette was sitting upright and smiling at me. I immediately hugged her. "I didn't think I'd see you again..."

"I'm here though, aren't I?" She mumbled into my ear before we broke apart. Everything seemed to get better until the building started shaking.

"What's going on?" I asked as the ceiling started to crumble.

"Adrian! Move!" Marinette yelled as I stumbled back. "Tikki! Spots on!" She cried. I looked back to my friend and saw Ladybug's costume materialising as she knocked me to the ground, smacking my head against a large piece of rubble. With her yo-yo, Ladybug stopped a chunk of the ceiling from crushing us. I sat up, groaning from the pain in my head.

"What the..." I muttered rubbing the back of my head as I looked back to Ladybug.

"Spots off." She muttered before kneeling down next to me. "You alright?"

"You're her...?" I muttered as she sighed.

"I guess the cat's out of the bag." Marinette said as she stood up and offered me a hand. Gripping her hand tightly, she pulled me up and I couldn't help but look at her in wonder. "Probably not what you were expecting, right?"

"I'd never think that the girl I'm in love with is actually one of my closest friends..." I admitted as she blushed. We held hands for about a second before a cruel laugh interrupted.

"How cute! Too bad that Ladybug won't be around to save you this time!" It laughed shaking the foundation of the building as we tried to escape.

I knew who's voice that was. "Go ahead and try, ShadowMoth!"

"Adrian...? Who are you talking to?" Marinette asked.

"Did you not hear that?" I snapped as she flinched. "Sorry m'lady..." as soon as that sentence left my mouth I covered it.

"Cat Noir... is that..." before Marinette could finish the ground opened up and swallowed us whole.

"Marinette! NO!!" I yelled sitting upright. It felt so real, then again, so did all nightmares but this one jarred me the most. I tried to calm back down as something flew close to me.

"You ok, Adrian?" Plagg asked looking really worried.

"Just a nightmare..." I muttered.

"You kept mumbling something while you were asleep. Something about Marinette and Ladybug..." he stated as he eyed me up suspiciously. "What's going on?"

"It was just a crazy dream. You wouldn't believe it even if I told you..."

"Try me." Plagg said with a confident nod. "I've been around for thousands of years, nothing would surprise me these days." I told him about my dream and (if he could) I think he paled. "That does sound like a story. I think that your obsession with Ladybug is making you go loco." He noted moving his hand in a circle while pointing at his head. I sighed looking at him in defeat.

"Maybe you're right, Plagg. But I can't help but think, what if it is true?"

"Oh Adrian! Not this again."

"Yeah, I know. Besides, I've got a promise to keep." I got out of bed and changed quickly before grabbing my bag. Plagg flew inside as I walked out of the house and got to school.

A couple of minutes later, I was walking towards Miss Bustier's classroom. I promised I'd be back to normal. Lets do this. I thought as I pushed open the door. I looked to everyone and the only vacant seats were mine and Marinette's. I sat down next to Nino, trying to be normal.

"Hey, dude. You seem to be doing good." Nino noted as I nodded.

"I made a promise, I intend to keep it." I answered as lessons began.

Hours passed and school had finally let out. Like a few weeks ago, our last lesson was cancelled. This time, our history teacher left Paris this morning to go to a fossil dig site. Don't ask.

I saw Nino and Alya catching up as her phone rang, when she answered she looked really relieved. I walked closer as I heard her half of the conversation. "... she's awake! This is great news. I'll be over soon." She said as she hung up.

"What's going on?" I asked as Nino gave her a quizzical look.

"That was Marinette's parents. Apparently, Marinette's awake. I'm going to the hospital now to see her." Alya explained as I smiled.

"That's great!" Nino exclaimed as he hugged her quickly before letting go.

"Can I come with you?" I asked as she didn't answer.

"I'll see you both tomorrow." She said, blowing off my question.

"Okay then." I muttered as she made her way there. Me and Nino parted ways as I got in the car. "Could we go to the hospital first before heading home?" I asked as my guard gave me a look. "Besides, I don't have to be home until quarter past three." I added as he grunted in response before started driving.

We arrived at the hospital as Alya was across the street. The guard turned off the engine as I got out of the car. I slipped into an alleyway as Alya crossed over and walked into the hospital. "What are you doing?"

"Finding out why Alya blew off my question. Why does it matter to you, Plagg?" I questioned as he looked shocked.

"You shouldn't be tailing people if they didn't answer your question." He scolded as I gently pushed him back inside my jacket. I waited for about a minute before entering the hospital myself and made my way to the room Marinette was in. I was about to walk in as her parents came out.

"Hello Adrian." Sabine greeted as I said hello beck.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Alya wanted to be alone with Marinette for a minute." Tom explained as the scooted past me. Why the heck does Alya want to be alone with Marinette? I thought as I could sort of hear what was being said through the wall.

"How was Cat Noir?" Marrinette asked.

"Really worried about you. Kept beating himself up over it, I reckon he'll be really happy to see you again." Alya responded as I just found out the most important thing ever. I knocked on the door as I heard Marinette call 'come in.' I opened it and walked inside, shutting the door behind me.

"Adrian! Wha... what are you doing here?" Marinette demanded, stuttering halfway through.

"Yeah, why are you here?" Alya questioned giving me a skeptical look.

"I wanted to see how you were doing." I answered truthfully as they exchanged glances.
