I know that was aggressive but I also know a lot of people are inclined to scroll so pls read I will try to keep it brief

1- I have things in this fic labeled as panic attacks. I have recently discovered I experience panic attacks frequently and that my description is (at least in my case) ridiculously inaccurate. I know experiences vary, but just take it with a grain of salt and do your own research

2- the way that a lot of mental health is portrayed in this book is bad. Steven Universe-esque, if you will (I like the show too, but it is kind of shit)

3- part of the reason for both of those things is I've realized I very likely have alexithymia. I've been writing and labeling emotions based on what I have seen other people (mostly authors) do rather than what I mean to be saying, which worsened the already dramaticized nature of the story

4- I wrote this book so people could see themselves in it and because it was and somewhat is a fixation. HOWEVER. I also know that lately there's been a fluctuation in those identifying as trans, and that for a lot of people that label is not accurate. A lot of "dysphoric" moments in this book are intertwined with general insecurity, which are not the same thing. I don't want to be leading people down a train of further self loathing, trans or just questioning/phase.

5- I say this out of love: your mental illness, body discomfort, poor self image, god awful self care, etc are not things to be bragging about. They do not make you special. They are not a personality. "I'm up at 5am on a school night hehe" or "I'm online constantly" are not things to be proud of. Think about why you're saying something before you do. So yes, these are things that are a part of many of us, but they are not something to be basing yourself off of. Not to be proud of, nor to be ashamed of

6- also y'all pls stop commenting the same thing over and over I wrote a lot of this well over a year ago and it's killing me /hj  Leave like 50 comments, thats fine, just please don't be a bunch of the same joke other people already made or some such

those are the main things I really wanted to cover

o also if u find this book tolerable there's a sequel

PS: if you start reading this book at like chapter 10 it's less bad
