Ch 3

To say the ride to the cabin was pure torture would be an understatement. Jim had all three of us sit in the back while him and mom sat in front. All the way there, I had to listen to Sissi blab about her perfect boyfriend and how he made the winning catch or whatever. I wasn't even listening. I had one headphone in so mom wouldn't think I was ignoring her even though I was. Quinn and I had our laptops and we were both playing minecraft while Sissi was talking on her phone.

"What are you playing?" Sissi asked me.
"Minecraft." I replied. "Isn't that game made for losers with no lives? Oh! That explains why you're playing it!" She smirked and continued tapping at her phone. "I would slap her but I don't want to get 'stupid bitch' on my hand." Quinn whispered to me and we both started laughing. Sissi glared at us and turned back to her phone.

"Girls! We're here!" Jim yelled. I
Groaned. "Aww c'mon V! We're here to have some fun!" "Family fun." My mom said, taking Jim's hand in hers. I rolled my eyes and got out of the car. The Cabin was pretty at the least. It was one story, and completely run down. "Eww. We're seriously staying here!? Gross!" Sissi cried. She walked over to a tree stump and sat down and got on her phone. "Ugh! There's no service!" I rolled my eyes and walked over to the cabin where Jim was trying to open the door. "Hey V, go get the crowbar. I have the wrong key to the cabin."

"What!? You're gonna take the door off!?"
"Yes but just the big door. I'll leave the screen door." He chuckled. I walked over to the truck and grabbed the crowbar. I was walking back to the cabin when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I turned and saw the silhouette of a man pretty deep in the woods. I screamed and threw the crowbar at him. It didn't even get close to him, but he ran off.

"Veronica! What's wrong?" Mom and Jim ran
up to me. "Uhh, I s-saw a man! Standing right there!" I pointed towards the woods and they both looked in the direction that my hand was pointing to. Jim started laughing "Oh Veronica! There's no one out here! Just us, and nature!" I rolled my eyes. "Uh, then what the hell did I just see!?" Veronica, honey. It was probably just a deer." Mom said. "Uhm, no mom. I'm sure I know the difference between a deer and a man!" Jim laughed at that and mom scowled. "It was just your imagination Veronica! You know, maybe if you would stop playing those horrible and violent video games and started going outside, you wouldn't have these hallucinations!"

"That wasn't a hallucination mom! I saw a
man!" I screamed. She made a shocked face "Don't you dare yell at me! You should learn to be more like Sissi! She will probably never have hallucinations like something so rediculous!" I chuckled "Yeah, mom. Tell that to the cocaine in her closet! Why do you guys favor Sissi!? She's a whore!" My mom gasped. "Veronica! She's your sister! We do not call our sisters such bad words!" I laughed at that. "Look who's talking! You know what. I don't even want to be here! Just leave me alone."

I walked away to where Quinn was reading
'To Kill A Mocking Bird', one of her favorites. "Book me," I said and she handed me 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". I opened it and started reading.
