Mias POV:
'When are you two moving out because I'm so bored of having to sleep with earplugs.' Kelce yawned, sitting down at the kitchen table.'Oh you're so dramatic.' I said, rolling my eyes jokingly at him.
'Tomorrow, Kelce. And then you'll be able to go back to hoeing around again.' Rafe responded.
I looked at our friend in shock, and he just awkwardly looked down at his cereal, before beginning to clear up the words that Rafe had just spat out.
'I'm actually seeing her, so I'm not exactly hoeing right now.' He mumbled.
'How did we not know about her?' I exclaimed.
'Because I didn't think you'd like it very much.'
'Oh don't be stupid, come on, who is she?' I pushed, leaning forwards.
I saw Rafe and Kelce share an awkward look, before Kelce went onto his phone and pulled up a photo of him with the girl. I recognised her, but it had only been a brief interaction.
'I feel like I know her from somewhere.' I muttered.
'I'm sure you don't,' Kelce laughed awkwardly.
I looked at Rafe and he shrugged, almost giving up the answer without saying anything. I pointed my finger between them both as I connected the dots.
'That's the girl that's like stalked Rafe since he was a kid. What's her name? Cleo?' I asked.
'Yeah, Cleo.' He said awkwardly.
I kept my mouth firmly closed, not wanting to accuse this girl of using him, but not wanting to congratulate him either. He coughed awkwardly, getting up and walking to the sink to grab a drink.
'I'm sure she's fine, Mia.' Rafe assured me, leaning over me to kiss me on the forehead.
'How'd you meet her, Kelce?' I quizzed.
'At a party. Things moved pretty quick but I'm happy with it.' He shrugged.
'Well, good.' I responded, wanting to be supportive of my friend but really not having it in me.
'Are you taking her to midsummer, Kelce?' Rafe asked, looking at me sternly when I snapped my head to look at him.
'I think I might, yeah. I've not got a suit yet though.' He responded.
'You cannot take her.' I interrupted.
'Mia.' Kelce sighed.
'No, no, I think she might be right.' Rafe responded.
Kelce put down his glass angrily.
'You're living in my house, don't sit there and fucking patronise me, or I will quite literally kick you out.' He snapped.
Me and Rafe both kept out mouths closed, knowing that this wasn't a fight that we could win today. I'd completely forgotten about the midsummer celebration, and therefore also didn't have an outfit.
'I don't have a dress, maybe I could go with Kie?' I asked.
'You know she won't be going. She's a Pogue now.' Kelce responded.
'The girl you're bringing isn't a kook nor a Pogue, I'm sure Kie will be fine.' I said, sharply.
'Well you can't go with her. Top can't see you out, I'll have to take you.' Rafe interrupted.
'I don't want you to see my dress.' I frowned.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and rubbed softly at my hips, kissing me on the top of the head.
